My very long, very honest, but very positive review!
We tried out Chicos last night, we were greeted and seated almost as soon as we arrived by who I assumed was the owner/manager (I didnt get names but the older fellow) He was very friendly from the start and informed us of how to order and that for now they were cash only.
We had a look though the menu and ordered our food, I had the BLK Burger and my gf the New York Burger we both ordered garlic fries and had a refillable soft drink each. Our drinks were brought to our tables after a bit of a wait, but we didnt mind as they place had gotten really busy and staff were rushed off their feet serving and turning tables. However our food took nearly 40-50 mins to arrive.
After seeing food taken out to a table that arrived after us we called over the manager to asked what was going on with our food, he went away and came back telling us there had been a mix up, and that our food ticket had not gone through to the kitchen. But that they were going to pull out all the stops to get us sorted asap. We were a little hangry, but we accepted it and continued to wait.
A couple of minutes later the manager came over with large bowl of nachos for us on the house to keep us going whilst we waited. A simple gesture that made all the difference in the world, and my god! these nachos were quite possibly the best we'd ever had! Covered in salsa, quacamole, sour cream, pica de gallo, chilli and cheese! Amazing!
Our food came a few mins after and was more than worth the wait, our burgers were very large and outstanding, I will warn you however, the BLK burger comes on a blackened bun, but it is not burnt! :)
The garlic chips were great and all was served with apologies and smiles, we felt really welcomed and really cared for. After our meals the manager came over to our table to check up on us and apologised again and had a bit of a chat with us, such a nice guy!
We ordered and shared a cookie dough desert, but to be fair were stuffed from our food.
What made this is five star review is the way the staff handled our problem. My gf and I have both worked in the food service industry, we know mistakes can be made and problems can happen, but what makes all the difference in customer service is how problems are dealt with, honesty is always the best policy and a freebie doesn't go amiss now and then, even as a gesture. Friendly, honest service will always trump fast and robotic service for me any time.
All in all a very positive experience and I wish the staff luck, the venue is small and fills up very quickly, I hope in time they will be able to expand a little to get more tables in. But the food and the service are outstanding and the prices for the quality are very reasonable. We will definitely be going back. See you soon guys :)
We , as a family of four , went here today...again.
We really cannot fault anything about the place , we all ate until we were full to bursting. The mega meal deal is amazing value for money , and really does slaughter Nando’s for taste as well. The total cost , for four of us...? Under £50... including drinks.
Definitely recommended , despite the negative reviews , we have never found the staff anything but very polite and attentive.
Today , I stupidly arrived without any cash , but the staff were very understanding and helpful. They took the food order with “ no worries , eat your food , then pop down the cash point and pay when you’re ready” .
So we did , and we will return..
This place was fabulous definitely 5 star, the service and food was to die for. Very generous portion sizes and lots to choose from on the menu. Fab meal finished off with a beautiful ice cream, which was also devine. Highly reccomended. Keep up the good work guys.

I would recommend this place to anyone, 5 star service with a big smile off all staff , the food quality itself was excellent, where much experience and time has gone into the menu and flavours, this place is a must to visit for anybody,

First time eating here and my partner and I would definitely recommend!
He had the lemon and herb chicken, I had some veggie tomato mozzarella spaghetti - was all so tasty! Only thing was that my boyfriend would've liked some wipes or something to wipe his face and hands after eating the chicken.
Great customer service too: very attentive, helpful and friendly.
Very satisfied with our experience and we'll definitely be visiting again!
If you like chicken, you will LOVE Chico’s! The best chicken I have had in Stafford yet. It blows Nando’s out of the water on taste and price!!! The staff is very friendly, and oh yeah, the Italian Gelato is out of this world as well. Highly recommend Chico’s!!!
The food was amazing, staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was very pleased after my meal and even happier when I found out that they do takeaways as well! I will definitely be back.

We came bang on 12, they weren’t quite ready to open but they let us sit and wait whilst they were doing the last bit of hoovering which was great! Absolutely fabulous food!! Will definitely be coming again. Service was fantastic! Would definitely recommend
Just tried here for the first time since it opened and must say I was amazed. If you like nandos you will love this place. It knocks nandos out the water . Bigger portions , better quality chicken and favours a million times better. We 100% be going again
Came as a group of 15 and had a lovely meal. Reasonable prices and amazing dessert menu! Friendly, helpful staff.
just had a takeaway from here and WOW! Just amazing.... will never be going to nandos again that's for sure! the chicken is massive, you get really well sized portions and flavor is amazing.... beautiful 😍😍🔥🔥
Amazing food! Very generous portion sizes, Have well and truly eaten too much tonight so had to bring pudding back in a box for the fridge! Staff were lovely, and we will be going again 🙂
Always thought this place was expensive, but it's not! Very reasonable actually and a lot of food.....great value. Nice decor inside although some of the booth chairs could do with reupholstering. Very nice and friendly staff. Would definately recommend and will certainly go back again.
First time coming here, wasn’t to sure as i am new to the area, but lovely people, food was honestly very good quality, really enjoyed it would definitely recommend whenever i’m in the area i’ll be down again thanks.
Was staying locally for a short visit to Alton towers and was looking for a local halal restaurant. Found this place, came here, parking on side road and nice clean restaurant with friendly staff and good selection from the menu. Food was tasty, we went for steaks and whilst was pricey was cooked well with good sides. Mocktails were also nicely made and overall a nice experience.
Driving from Nuneaton to Stoke on Trent, through Stafford, we (two adults and two kids), thought to stop by and try Chico's. We thought that the name sounded really appealing and we hoped that the food would be too. We ordered a full chicken meal, marinated in medium heat sauce, which came with chips, rice and the drinks for only £16, wow.
I have to say, bye bye Nando's, the portion here is massive, the taste is great and the customer service is rather exceptional. I travel through Stafford at least once a week, and will surely drop by each time. The quality of food has dropped in the Midlands and to have such a delightful food, makes the trip worth while.
Simple good tasty food. For mains roast chicken probably the best. But the real find are the deserts. Very special.

Really love the food from here, makes a change from the Chinese/Indian takeaway. The food is expensive (20-30% more than other takeaways), more so if picking delivery which is why we always collect, however it's good quality with generous portions. We have never dined in but it looks fantastic inside and would love to go in at some point (parking is just a challenge on that side of town)
Delicious really fresh food! Chicken is so tender and portions are a great size. Staff are so lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be back!!
We have takeout, via the food apps, from here possibly a little too often as it’s a healthy option so feels guilt free. Decided to go to the actual restaurant to sit in last night… the food is even better fresh at the table. I know it sounds obvious but it’s always been fantastic food even as a take out so we were very surprised that it was even better at the restaurant. If you can be bothered to get dressed and head out I highly recommend eating at the restaurant.
