A wonderful pub / restaurant which is an amazing find. The Sunday lunch was one of the best I've had. Excellent portion size for hubby and dad!! The service was excellent really friendly but not in your face. Already looking to go back on Thursday as another birthday treat. And we want to book for my parents 60th wedding anniversary party 2024. Thank you for such a wonderful birthday Sunday lunch 🙏💜🙏

The best food around ! My sunday beef roast was amazing and the best vegetarian roast ever! Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The food was delicious. We stumbled across this place by accident, and we will definitely return.

3 of us and a small dog. We visited last Friday, with a very warm welcome & that wasn’t just the fire. The main barman (possibly the landlord) was so proud of the food & menu he knew what to suggest & he explained how fresh the food was. All of us had a lovely 2 course meal & couldn’t fit any more in. It’s a beautiful looking pub & friendly staff. Would recommend 100%. Thank you.

Went to see Rod Stewart & the Farces who were excellent. Sat outside in a Marquee was a tad cold.

Made a lunch reservation for about 10 of us. The food was good. Nicely decorated marquee. The cocktails were tasty and made well. Would definitely visit again. Reasonably priced. There’s parking in the back too ! Service could be improved, didn’t get the orders 100% correct for a few dishes.

Our first visit here and wish we'd discovered this little gem sooner. Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff and a lovely setting. There wweresingers there the afternoon we went which really added to it. The kids had a great time making friends in the garden and playing on the bouncy castle. This will definitely be our first choice of pub from now on.

Very, very nice place. The staff could not have been nicer. The drinks and food were very good. The character of the inside was as I had hoped; cozy and inviting. The Christmas decor, just adds to the ambience. I definitely recommend a visit or two.

Brilliant venue for a drink or a meal. The carpark is still large given the huge marquee that's been put up behind the pub. We booked a table in advance and when we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and were taken to our table. The tables are really well spaced and there is additional seating outside in the garden. The menus were single use and all of the staff wore face masks. We ordered drinks while we perused the menu and they arrived quickly. The Doom Bar was at a nice, cool temperature and very refreshing. The menu has some classic pub-grub favourites (fish'n'chips, burgers and steaks) alongside some interesting vegan options. We placed our order and our meals arrived quite quickly, well presented and our server brought additional sauces at our request. The meals were really good, tasty and well prepared. My main course fish platter was excellent with crab meat, prawns, salmon and hot mackerel fillets and flat bread. The spicy chicken salad was equally good and the cajun and fries we had as a shared side will be difficult to resist on future visits. Service was excellent and our glasses didn't sit empty. There was a local band playing throughout the evening (Roxton Press) and although their drummer was absent (Covid!) they were very entertaining playing a laid back mix of familiar covers. They certainly made a dinner at the pub feel a little bit special. We will keep an eye open for the next time that they're appearing so we can come and enjoy another dinner with music here. The marquee stayed reasonably warm and we only resorted to our jackets as the evening was coming to a close. The toilets were clean and well stocked. The bill wasn't crazy expensive and the food and drinks we had were good value. Another one to add to our list of places to take friends and family and we'll definitely return again soon.

We stopped here one Thursday evening as we were passing through, and I have to say, it was really excellent. The food was very good and on a Thursday you get a free carafe of wine with two main meals, and the wine was pretty decent as well. Highly recommended.

We had our Crafty Monkey works party at The White Horse with Adele tribute and it was a fantastic night. The venue looked amazing and really Christmassy and really got us in the festive mood. The pre-ordering was easy and we all got what we had ordered. Staff were friendly and helpful. Adele was great. Only complaint was we struggled to blow up the balloons on our table but it provided us with fun trying! We managed to smuggle Elf in and he had a whale of a time as you can see in the photos! The White Horse have really worked hard during the pandemic to keep everyone safe and their covid measures were good. It's such a great venue with their marquee area. Great owners who are really personable and helpful! Thank you The White Horse and I hope you don't mind we smuggled Elf in!

Hosted our engagement party here, we had an incredible evening, very accommodating and friendly team, 40+ people impromptu ordering food on a Saturday and it was no issue at all, thank you!

Lovely setting, with open sides to the dining area, a pub garden, and a small area for youngsters to play. Tables set out seating 4 only, so as a party of 15 we were seated over 4 tables. Made conversation a little tricky, but once we decanted outside, it was easier to chat. Attentive staff, and delicious food. It did become very busy with all the tables occupied, so booking in advance is essential.

I've had a sunday roast and it was beautiful. Want more. I had my 60th birthday party there . With about 15 of us there. Stewart and Karen, the land Lords gave us all a fabulous time. My birthday was memorable thanks to them. Thoroughly recommend the white horse.

(Updated review) Context: Ate here with friends in Aug-2021 Pros: Friendly service. Really tasty food. Good choice of drinks. Felt Covid-secure on arrival: everyone sat out in the very large, open-sided marquee in the garden (rather than in the beautiful old pub). Nice atmosphere. Cons: Felt less comfortable when they closed all of the marquee's sides quite early. Temporary floor under the marquee very wobbly so quite nauseating when the staff were delivering food.
