We are visiting the UK for the first time and having lunch at this quaint British tea room nestled in the beautiful seaside village of St Margaret's at Cliffe was an excellent way to spend a couple hours of our last day here.
The little eatery is part restaurant and part museum. Much of it is dedicated to famous playwright, Noel Coward, who spent a significant amount of time in St Margaret's
The food was very good and the staff was helpful and friendly.
Really relaxing surroundings and well maintained gardens.. A visit to the tea room highly recommended - tasty home made/baked goods. I had ploughmans sandwich and fruit scone - nostalgic! Ok service
A lovely experience at The Pine Tea Room. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of food. I had the asparagus, spinch and cheese quiche with salad. Absolutely delicious! Then tea and cake for dessert. My family also had chicken and leek pie and fajita chicken baguette which they said was tasty and freshly cooked. We will definitely be popping back for a cuppa and a slice of cake😍
Lovely and light tea rooms with outdoor seating and lots more over the road that are of very traditional English garden style outdoor seating, since undercover.
Lovely cakes and scones to refuel us midway through our walk 😍
They don't allow crockery outside so it was a perfect excuse to use our own reusable things instead of single use cups etc so if you have them, bring them 🙂
Even better in the sunshine like today 🌞😎
The gardens are crammed with wild flowers so it is very relaxing.
Just what you want after a walk along the cliffs and coastal paths around St Margaret's. Good range of freshly prepared hot food, sandwiches and cakes. The tasty and substantial homemade lasagna with garlic bread and salad (with a superb balsamic dressing) really hit the spot at a mere £12.50. Well worth seeking out.
The tea room was lovely with a good choice of cakes. We had the cream tea and the cream and jam were lovely on the warm scones. Nice big pot of tea too. It's nice sitting amongst all the interesting museum pieces . Loved it. Friendly staff. Good prices. Will definitely return!
I recommend. Small park but there are many different plants and flowers. Romantic place. And you can also walk there with your dog. There is a great cafe on site.
Fantastic cakes!! Lovely coffee. Friendly staff. Intriguing little place (& by little I mean massive. We didn’t realise all the gardens until we were driving away. Doh!. 😂)
Slight warning.
It is a STEEP hill/hike downhill from the lighthouse
It is a STEEP hill/hike downhill from the village.
Thus making it a STEEP climb UP from the bay.
But it is surrounded by beauty & worth the trek down.
Full disclosure: I got my hubby to walk back up the precautious steps to get the car as there is no way 3 frail people in our party could’ve made it back up)
Stopped in for tea and scone both were excellent the service was excellent ,very friendly nothing too much trouble for them we saw the main meals served and they looked amazing would highly recommend giving it a try
Wow, the filled baguette was definitely filled. Between the 3 of us, 1 had barbecue chicken, 1 had the garlic mushrooms and i had the sausage and onion, very well presented and great taste. The Tea, Coffee and Apple juuce all very nice indeed. Well done. The museum that is attached was very intresting on the White Cliffs and St Margaret's Beach with posters, models and artifacts is well represented to the History of the area.
The gardens were a little bit unkempt when we visited but it was a nice walk around. The museum is actually inside the cafe. There isn't a lot to see but the pictures and history were really interesting. Worth checking out if you are in the area.
Pleasantly surprised by gardens they aren't huge, however they have varied plants and a nice pond. There is a good tea room also.
We stayed at pine cottages and found the tearooms a short 2min walk away .Food was absolutely fantastic all home cooked and great little selection of food aswell as vegetarian options ,we had tea which came in a large teapot more than enough for 3 of us to have 2 cups and as for the cakes wow well worth having .
Friendly staff and customers. Delicious food and locally sourced drinks. And dogs are not only welcome, there's doggy ice cream too!
Quaint and homely with fresh, homemade cakes. The gardens, opposite, are an oasis of tranquility to enjoy your meal and drink.
Great tea room with fantastic staff! The scones are brilliant and perfect after a walk. Definitely worth stopping here.
Here you can taste fine ice cream from local producers and preservative-free juice from local farmers. The scones tea was great
The pines garden tea room provided us with a lovely cup of tea and a choice of 6 home made cakes which were fresh, moist and delicious..
Lovely location. Fabulous cakes and scones and made a refreshing change to be served by such a lovely lady. There is a free local museum in this cafe, well put Together, very interesting .... my kids liked it too! Indpor and Outside seating ..Unfortunately no time to view the gardens. We went down to the nearby beach to get a closer look at the white cliffs and Ian Fleming's old house! Also an old pill box. All free parking. Will be back in October 18.
