We stopped here for breakfast on our coastal path journey and the staff were accommodating and welcoming. Considering it was a Sunday (and Father’s Day) they managed to find us a table still. The service was slick and staff polite. I got the veggie cook book breakfast and two others got the avocado special and mini breakfast. All was perfectly cooked and delicious. Coffee was equally as good. 10/10 would come again! A shame I live so far away !

Great cream teas. We went here as part of a week in Cornwall. This came up as one of the recommended places to have a cream tea following an internet search. We arrived after lunch and the cafe was still busy we managed to find a table although space was a bit tight although that’s what you expect from older buildings. Service was quick and we ordered a cream tea and a cheese tea. The teas came quickly with generous extra hot water. Both the teas were great, melt in your mouth crumbly scones, great jam & cream and the cheese was to die for. I recommend this for cream teas especially as part of a visit to St Just or the mining areas.

Very cute little cafe, great place to shelter from the wind and rain (which we definitely needed). Friendly staff, lots of cakes on offer. We had the cheese scone tea.

We were so delighted with the wedding cake Rae at the Cook Book made us for our special day. Growing up in St Just I have fond memories of enjoying a cream tea with my nan at the Cook Book. It was so special for us to have our wedding cake made here in St Just. The cake was beautiful and delicious, it was exactly what we wanted.

Great place to stop for a bit to eat. We had tea and scones which were perfect. Just remember that is needs to be jam then cream! (We did it the other way and our Cornish friends didn't approve - ha!)

Best scones and clotted cream I've had in a while, also the marmalade 👍👍👍. A good place to while away a few hours especially on a rainy day.

Came here for breakfast last week to start a day out. We were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming staff. We walked in and were seated immediately with no waiting. Lovely little cafe with a friendly and chilled atmosphere. The food was excellent and they were very generous portions and the prices were really good value too. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stop for food in the area!

The nicest people I've met, always welcoming. It's the nicest place to go, especially when I've had a bad day. The toast is amazing! And even the water tastes good, definitely a good place to go, with good people.

Stopped in today on way back from Sennen beach... Was pleasantly surprised! A very reasonably priced cafe and great food. I had a cheese salad with brie, blue and Cornish yarg cheese and my husband had a baguette which he chose his fillings. We were lucky to get a seat outside without having to wait and the service was good (They gave us our menus and we ordered inside). A really good place for a decent lunch.

Lovely welcome. Quaint setting. We went for breakfast. The coffee comes with a lovely little cakey thing. Sorry I can't remember what it was called.. I had the full breakfast. The presentation of the food was great service was extremely friendly. The only thing that let it down was the quality of some of the ingredients. I might be wrong but the sausage seemed very cheap and mushy and the mushrooms seemed like the tinned variety. I was a bit disappointed by that as a few pence more for top quality ingredients would transform it. But the eggs, tomatoes, and other ingredients were done perfectly. The only other thing I would change is the cuttlery which was a bit soft ( two of us found our forks bent trying to pierce the bacon).

Lovely place! We took a sit outside, on a sunny day, and ordered a banana milkshake, a cappuccino with oat milk and a baguette with local sausages and cornish yarg to go. All was good and well presented! I saw that they organize tapas nights too...I wish I could go!!

Cosy beautiful little cafe, with very nice and fresh breakfast, great homemade cream tea, the fact that without you asking they brings big glass bottle of water on your table is just cherry in top(every place should do it) staff is super nice and friendly

Two of us dropped in for lunch today. Very friendly and welcoming. The young ladies serving were helpful and efficient. My soup and garlic bread were very tasty with a large pot of tea for two. Tables well spaced. Having to wear a mask unless seated was the only Covid nuisance, which of course is the same everywhere. The bookshop upstairs has shrunk to half its size since our last visit, with a dining table in the remaining half making it socially awkward to browse there. It's still a lovely cafe to visit, which we will when next in St Just.

Really cosy cafe just a short walk from the centre of town. We stopped here for some breakfast before tackling the South West Coast Path and the food and staff were both excellent. They also catered very well for a member of our group who is lactose intollerant. Highly recommended.

We had such a good breakfast yesterday we went back again this morning. Friendly staff, the Cook's breakfast was much appreciated by himself. We chose just our favourite items, and had enormous portions. Well worth a visit.
