The Haddock, chips and mushy peas are really good, not to bad a price, very good quality for down south, almost as good as being in Yorkshire. Recently visited and found that prices have risen considerably. The fish was still really good, but the peas and curry sauce had shrunk in size but as a side garnish was as expensive as a potion of chips, and the quality of the potatoes seems to be a little bit worse than before. The tea for one was just that so a one cup teapot and a teabag cost over £2.00 with no offer of a free water refill. We all know times are hard and costs are up but sometimes a bit more value for money may go along way to protecting a long term business plan.
Usually a great place with good service and food, l decided to cycle the 5 miles to get the best fish and chips in the region, however, tonight's performance had a couple of glitches. When l ordered l paid for eating in but sat outside and was told we will bring it out.
After watching a procession of people enter and leave l knew they had forgotten about me. So went in to remind them l was still waiting.

Fish was excellent, chips not so good tonight. Hard and over cooked (dark not golden). Will try again next week.
Absolute legends!! They were about to close when we 3 very hungry mechanics wandered in in search of much needed sustenance! They stayed open just for us, thanks guys. Top nosh too!
Still the best for miles around and well worth the drive from Hartford. Excellent fish and chips the best we've had for ages. Been going once a week since it opened again. Easy online booking and collection system or have it delivered. Friendly staff and always a pleasure to visit. Lovely thick chunky cod and the best chips the home made tartare sauce is the best mode fresh in store. A new menu addition is a tray of Loaded chips its excellent and very filling.
I have called here a couple of times while in the area and both times I've really enjoyed my food. The loaded chips are lovely and I really recommend the battered gherkins which are excellent. My daughter's fiance had battered oreo which he thought were amazing. Id recommend a visit.

Ordered from here for the 1st time and must say their chips are lovely. We have only had chips so far. Was fast service, and service with a smile too.

Eric’s fish bar did not disappoint. Fish and chips often seems a pretty underwhelming choice when it comes to takeaway food. This is such a different way of experiencing a classic!
The inside and out are modern and have a real restaurant vibe. It was clean inside and out; the deck chairs outside would be great to use in the sunshine.
The menu contains what you’d expect (haddock, cod, chips etc...) but also other items you might not expect scampi, squid, halloumi, black pudding. Gin, wine, cider and beer also available. I recommend the Aspall.
The food tasted so good and although it may be pricier than your standard chippy, it is definitely worth the extra.

Chips cooked in beef dripping, the freshest thickest cod I've had in a very long time Also deep fried jam sandwich!! The best fish and chips you can get. If you don't like them it's not that they are bad, it's you don't have good taste 😉
