Stunning food ... we had the dressed crab and also lemon sole.. perfect with the salads it came with. Lovely drinks .. staff really friendly and we had the best table . Definitely worth a visit.
Wow, this place is magical, we had our wedding reception here a few days ago, i can't recommend them enough! Dianne and all the staff were brilliant, the food was fabulous and we felt like royalty for the day, nothing was too much trouble for them, we're so glad we choose you to be our venue. We found this place by accident and we were so amazed! We were there before it had actually opened for the evening and they were so welcoming! We had our two dogs and sat outside and enjoyed the view! The food was amazing! I had fish pie and seasonal greens and being very fussy about fish I was not disappointed. It was lush! My wife had the special, which was steak and the pickled onion rings. (She has not stopped talking about it since) If you have chance to visit this lovely place, you will not be disappointed � Thank you to the lovely waiting staff that looked after us and our dogs!
We had an amazing day at Pete and Carrie Beddard’s Wedding at the cafe on Saturday 9th of June. The staff were absolutely amazing , they work so hard to ensure everyone had food and drink. They were so polite and friendly. The food was gorgeous and in such beautiful settings. Nothing was too much trouble. They earn there wages and more for their relentless work. Can’t wait to go back. Throughly recommend!!
We had a lovely lunch yesterday and we're welcomed even though we were a party of 13! Fab food and great service! Always worth a visit and Porthgwidden Cafe never fails to disappoint.

This is NOT a coffee shop (although you can have coffee etc), but a relaxed small cafe/restaurant. We went for a light lunch and we were spoilt for choice. Friendly staff, light and airy, good views of Porthgwidden Beach and the sea. Offers itself as a wedding venue - that would be nice.

An all-time favourite. Have been coming for what must be 20 years, and remains the ideal combination of food, view, atmosphere and staff. Food this time if anything better than ever. The chowder is truly superb.
My daughter had her wedding venue here on Saturday 9th September 2017. Could fault nothing. Glorious weather and views. Fantastic food, lovely staff and Dianne (wedding organiser) was brilliant. Would highly recommend anyone having their wedding here. All our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Now that's a recommendation!

Sat in the window inside, so perfect view east to Godfrey. Mackerel pate starter and fish and chips main very well done. Service was attentive for our friends who have allergies, all well catered foe. Atlantic pale ale perfect with the F&Chips. Al round a perfect beach cafe.
Great cafe for all types of food. Food very good quality in the restaurant section and staff nice snd friendly. Looks over the beach for fantastic sea views.

St Ives Portthgwidden Beach Cafe is a wonderful spot for a very nice lunch or Dinner. They do walkins but if you can book as it is very popular. It opens for lunch at 12 midday to 4pm and Dinner 5:30pm until 10pm. Nice little menu especially if you are a fan of Seafood. Lovely friendly staff and the view is Cornwall at its finest (If in the Sun).
There is a public car park nearby (The Island Carpark) but it is very popular and nearly always full, so my tip would be come early to get a spot and come for the full day of beach ⛱ and a lovely bit of lunch. But if you don't get in the carpark it's still worth the walk.

Historically one of my favourite places and hadn't visited for about 4-5 years. The food was delicious but the menu wasn't what we were expecting. It's gone up market with the lunchtime menu. The view hasn't changed and is still incredible!
Very welcoming & accommodating staff, given we arrived with no prior booking. They fitted us in on the indoor terrace, #whataview.
Wonderfull meal & overall service. Will definitely visit again!

Today we come to the restaurant to have some lunch.
We come and the bartender give us a table close to the door and with almos zero views of the sea...
We then ask other bartender if we can get please other table close the window to admire the amazing views that this restaurant have...
That's why I call this review the Hero.
The woman blonde with glasses give us the best table of the place us soon the other clients finish eating, this defenetly make a crazy differences I will like to say to her thanks so so much one more time for this small toach.

Great location, food first class worth the walk to get away from the main shops and cafe's.
If you want a fantastic venue in an up beat, trendy bistro/restaurant/cafe with the most astonishing views, this is the place. The supervisor was genuinely polite, happy to engage in a chat, and cheerful with a great attitude to service. Easy access from the car park and located on the beach at 1st floor level ensuring even in a mizzly day, the view of the beach and the sea was tremendous. We ordered a couple of bacon and egg baps. Carefully prepared in brioche buns, the bacon and egg was cooked superbly well and the buns appeared to have been griddled in the bacon fat which was a tasty and welcomed change from a simple toasting. Coffee was hot and smooth.
The venue is so iconic don't expect a cheap bite but when considering the location, and the quality of the food and service, the value was excellent.

We had a lovely coffee in the morning overlooking the beach. One of the staff out an umbrella up to protect us from seagulls. We also visited early evening for drinks, staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.
The food was great, the view is fantastic but the staff were even better. As soo. As we arrived they were friendly and welcoming. We had two children and acessability needs and they couldn't have done more for us. The squid was the best we'd ever had. The atmosphere was warm and cosy. Located by an idilic beach where the boys went and played on the rocks and the sand for the rest of the afternoon. Great place can't recommend it highly enough.
This cafe is right on the beach with tables and chairs and parasols to sit under.
Fish and chips were cooked fresh when ordered.
They tasted lovely. Especially eating them looking at wonderful scenery.
Lovely meal, all courses were delicious. Great location with views over the beach. Service was excellent. Overall a fantastic evening!

Really really good food and very friendly service. The whole.place was very calm and relaxed. We were told as we arrived to follow Covid protocols in a very informative and friendly manner. The service was delightful even though the waitresses had to do it from behind masks. Food was excellent and very very good value. Can not recommend this place highly enough if you're visiting St. Ives.
Most fantastic view, lovely food, friendly staff. Worth the effort to find it, it's a bit tucked away.

We are here for the last night on our holiday and it was a really lovely night. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering a table with a stunning view over the beach. Dog friendly in certain parts which was perfect for us with our border collie.
The food was absolutely perfect in flavour and presentation. We will be returning!
