Oh Jersey you’ve done it again! You’ve given me sun. You’ve introduced me to some terrific people. You’ve fed me lots of Champagne and this time around – you’ve given me one of my favourite afternoon teas of the year. Bohemia is a Michelin starred restaurant at The Club Hotel & Spa in Jersey and is looked after by the multi-talented head chef Steve Smith and his team. Afternoon Tea however is looked after that little bit more by head pastry chef, Ellen de Jager.
Beautiful and elegant service we had. The 4 course Michelin Star fine dining experience was amazing and unique. Highly recommend this restaurant. Bread roll with seaweed butter is a must to try. Salty but so refreshing. Cocktails champagne are great but very strong 😊
Quick dinner for the three of us in the bar area, as staying in the hotel and no appetite for the fixed menu's in the restaurant. Food was certainly above average compared to the average hotel diner, although I'm not sure bar dishes are prepared by the Michelin Star team!
Tables in the bar area are too low for us to eat comfortably and there is little atmosphere.
An absolutely excellent dining experience, from the first bite of the appetizer to the last drop of the dessert wine (we went with the wine pairing, duh).
Professional yet not pretentious, we spent over three hours yet the time seemed to fly by.
Exquisite all the way around!
Best food in Jersey. On the Saturday we visited their Michelin Star restaurant and we enjoyed it so much that we came back to the Bar on the Sunday.
Bohemia review (restaurant): we had the 3-course lunch set menu for 49£ pp which was high quality, super tasty food. Everything felt classy from the service, the atmosphere, the plates and of course the food. The main courses were the most mind blowing in my opinion; I had the cod while my girlfriend had the chicken. In her words “this is the softest chicken i’ve ever had, it’s melting in my mouth”. The Paris-Brest desert was also delicious. The evening tasting menu will set you back 100£ each which is why we went for lunch, well worth it nonetheless.
Bar food review: we had a club sandwich (£12) and a steak ciabatta with fries (16£). It was simple but tasted great, especially the steak sandwich.
Both of these are part of the hotel, you’ll get the same professional staff, share the same luxurious toilets and most likely it’s the same kitchen preparing both restaurants. Highly recommend and would definitely return on my next visit to Jersey!
Thank you for the amazing service, we had a wonderful night !
Everybody from the staff was professional and welcoming.
A special mention to Jude (sommelier), it makes all the difference to have a real sommelier that knows his wine list and knows how to describe every wine (we took the wine pairing). Another mention to the waiter (we don’t have his name…) who explained all the courses with a lot of knowledge and passion. Would recommend 100% !
Each dish in the surprise tasting menu was truly exquisite.
Honestly, when I walked through the bar I was concerned about whether this was going to be a Michelin restaurant but as soon as I was seated and presented with the menus and experienced the service (which was first class throughout) I melted into the wonderful theatre of the tasting menu.
The amuse bouche was mouthwatering and kick started plate after plate of gastronomic elegance. The wine pairing set each dish off perfectly and I left feeling utterly satiated.
Amazing food, great service. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Every dish is explained and well presented.
Between us, we tested every plate in the taster menus and they were all fantastic.
The vegetarian: the one outstanding was the one with the artichokes,
The pescaterian was great overall and,
The regular taster: the beef tartar and the duck were amazing.
But the best were the entremeses they wer absolutely outstanding.
Highly recommended.
Every detail is greatly observed.
But the best thing is that, although it is a fine dining experience. Staff is relaxed and friendly, removing any sense of awkwardness and resulting in an amazing night
Superb evening, food and team! Would highly recommend the surprise menu and wine flight. Good value and Jude the sommelier was refreshing; great wine with direct links to the food it was paired with. Don’t hesitate to book if you like great food, wine and a relaxed atmosphere.
Awesome tasting menu with matched wines. Bite size amuse-bouche of "cheese & onion" (think: Cheese Moments bar snack crisps!) and steak tartare were delicious. Beautifully presented plates of lobster, crab and foie gras followed. Tasty main of lamb. A trio of tiny ice cream cones, and finally a 'mojito dome' which I can't really describe very well (salted caramel, pistachio meringue wafer and a creamy 'dome')!
The matched wines went very well too. Good friendly service as well.
My only negative comment would be I'm not a fan of gold and silver leaf on food, but I realise it's still considered trendy.
Standout dining location in Jersey (not that there aren’t excellent alternatives) but every course on the tasting menu, all of the service, was so impeccable, it feels as close to guaranteed as possible, that you will have a excellent meal here. Of course expensive, but felt justified.
It's what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Expensive layout in the hotel with good service. Had the Appleton 21 year old rum from Jamaica. Complementary nibbles provided.
Robert and I had the taster menu.Every course was a delight on the palette which was further enhanced by the previous course. The service was exemplary with each course being described fully. We met Chef Callum who is a delightful young man and clearly very talented. The Bohemian visit made made my eightieth birthday an occasion will never forget. Many thanks to all at the Bohemian from Brenda and Robert Nisbet
Fabulous lunch. We'll worth a michelin star, and reasonably priced for such terrific food, so we'll cooked and presented.
Absolutely sublime! Every course was amazing. The service was second to non. Highly recommended 👌
Fantastic food but also a great experience. The service was friendly and we could really appreciate the huge amount of work that went into each course. A very memorable evening.
Service amazing. Yes its exspensive but restaraunt has a lovely atmosphere. Not the place if you are a fussy eater or reluctant to try rich unusual flavours. The wine tasting menu is well worth a go.
Absolutely fantastic meal. Great wine list. If you’re offered an extra cheese course, take it. Wow.
