What a fantastic little restaurant in St Helens town centre.
It's a mix of Indian and Italian food. Which is quite rare to see. I ordered a lamb shashlik with garlic and coriander naan. All very fresh and made to perfection.
The poppadoms with a choice of 4 dips are melt on your mouth.
There's no bar licence so if you want alcohol with your meal, you can take your own and they will provide glasses with ice. Or, you can go next door to the pub and take it with you. We took a bottle of JD and a bottle of coke with a box of San Miguel beers.
The staff are so funny and helpful with a great sense of humour. Nothing is too much for them. They will and do anything you. So just ask them.
We were celebrating a 3way shared birthday, they even brought us a cake with a candle and took our photos all with fun and laughter.
5 meals of both pizza and Indian with poppadoms for starters cost Β£78. The portion are generous too.

Went last night with a friend. Really enjoyed it the food was tasty, a very big selection on the menu it took us a while to decide what we wanted. Our server was great really friendly and funny. Will definitely be returning and trying different dishes as there were loads i wanted to try
I would Absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Delicious food, lovely and welcoming staff, fantastic service. I have been a few times food is always piping hot and always tasty. Great menu lots of choice either Italian or Indian cuisine. Will definitely be back. It has half price deal on at the moment so even better.
Such a lovely restaurant. Staff were so friendly and attentive. My husband had Indian and I had Italian and both starters and meals were delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely come back

I am very very happy to re-review The Green Olive. This time we ate in, and with a party of 22!
Everything I mentioned in my previous review has been fixed. The food was out of this world and the staff, especially the female waitress (her name escapes me at the moment) were 100% on point, super friendly and very very helpful. As I mentioned above, we was a party of 22, so unfortunately we couldn't get everyone at the same table but this did not take away from the experience and from our reason for being there, to celebrate a something within the family.
I have rated the atmosphere as a 4 because for the life of me, I can't remember if there was any type of music being played or not but the restaurant was packed (unlike in my original review) and the noise of happy customers was very clear.
We will 100% be going back and we have since recommended The Green Olive to pretty much anyone who's asked us about nice restaurants π

Got ourselves a takeaway, never been here before. The food was nice but we was missing some of the order so had to do a couple trips which meant the food we did have was then cold when we ate it. Staff were very distant, almost couldn't be bothered. We didn't eat in but kinda glad we didn't as there was zero atmosphere. Place was empty so wasn't even any noise from customers chatting and laughing etc.
Wasn't overly impressed with the whole experience.
We've been a few times now, the food is always brilliant and the staff and service is second to none.

Staff were really attentive and made us feel really welcome. All the food was really fresh, good portion sizes and very tasty - and there is a wide menu to choose from. The poppadoms for the table were gorgeous and came with little sauces that were also lovely. The meat in the curry fell apart in your mouth. Staff offered to bag up any leftover food to take with us. Would recommend.
As a new costumer, never been here before, I can honestly say it is a nice atmosphere and the staff was lovely. The food was amazing, was disappointed when I found out that they didnβt have Vindaloo on the menu but madras is close enough. Would be definitely coming again, would recommended going here and will be telling friends/family about this place. About time St.Helens got something good.
My friend and i went on a Saturday evening the service and food was amazing we had planned on going bowling afterwards however the food was so plentiful we ended up going home to get into comfy clothes π. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough they also told us to come back midweek as its cheaper (they have offers on) but in all honesty i really didnt mind paying full price ! We even got a takeaway menu as we left. I will definitely be eating here again. Well done to all
Impeccable service! Guys were really accommodating and chatty. Food was excellent and plenty of it ππ I eat gluten free and spoke to the staff they was great in offering advice on dishes I could eat! Atmosphere good, prices were brill will definately be returning! Thank you π
Wonderful place to be, we had a large party for an 18th birthday and the staff were so accommodating and friendly I would give them 10 stars if possible. Food was excellent and split bills made life easy
We ordered a mix of Indian and Italian food. And it was all delicious, we couldnβt fault it. Everything was really fresh, piping hot and full of flavour. My partner and I ordered from the Indian menu. It has great vegetarian options.The Tarka Dahl is our go to and it did not disappoint. Some of our family ordered Italian dishes. They had a variety of fresh prawn dishes and the rack of lamb which they really enjoyed. The staff were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
Had another great meal at the Green Olive. The last opportunity for bring your own wine before the alcohol license kicks in at the beginning of August. Not too disappointed though because the wine prices looked very reasonable and the food is definitely too good to miss so we will be back.
We ordered a takeaway and it was fantastic. We are vegetarian and are disappointed most times from takeaways here, but this was really delicious. We will definitely get it again. The service took over an hour and so i took a star off for this only. I intend to eat at the restaurant soon though. Can't wait.
Food (the most important thing) was excellent and service was very good as well. Lacked a bit in atmosphere though and maybe needs a bit of a makeover with the decor. All kinds of offers on though so take advantage and enjoy some real nice food!
