Friendly staff and general atmosphere. Opted for lamb out of the 3 choices (turkey, beef or lamb). Roasties were crisp and fluffy, mash was buttery and not overly "riced" (makes the texture like out of a packet), carrot and swede had butter and a touch of white pepper. Cabbage was seasoned well. Nice pub, friendly staff but very quiet, used to be the best pub in ST Helens for food & entertainment, friday, Saturday & sunday was always a full house, still a nice pub but a pale shadow of what it was

Visited today for food! It was absolutely lovely! I had the steak melt wrap and my partner had sausage and mash and it was cooked to perfection! The staff are so welcoming and there is such a lovely atmosphere in the pub! Everyone sitting chatting to each other and to top it off! Service with a smi
Proper pub sunday roast👍 really tasty, lots of meat, veg and huge yorkshire pudding. Seems like a lovely local pub, everyone really friendly. And 2 x sunday roasts for £20 when we went... bargain.

Very good my friend and I had a very pleasant meal consisting of two steak pies with chips and peas. For £10 The food quality and quantity was really very good indeed, unbeatable value for money. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. I do well recommended this pub.

Delicious Sunday roast dinner today with my husband and kids ,clean plates all round . Lovely Friendly staff 🙂 even got a lovely flower off the staff for mothers day 🌺we will definitely be back soon
The staff are superb and absolutely go out if there way to ensure you enjoy your visit. , food is liveky, Guinness is tge best around
Never eaten here since I worked over the road in 1990! At 2 meals for £8, wasn't expecting much but Sunday lunch was really good. Proper roast beef, fresh vegetables, and plenty of it. Excellent!!
