We hired the room out for a family party, the food was provided by the pub, it was excellent, and really nice and plenty of it. There is also a children's play area. Prices are average. Would highly recommend for a function, or just going for a meal.
2nd time using the function room. This time with buffett food ordered from the pub!! Amazing is an understatement and the staff are always helpfull. Thanks for a great day.
Love this place. The garden is great for kids and there is usually bouncy castles up. The food is really good and like home made. The bar staff are lovely too.
A great place to visit. Just out of the way from the hustle and bustle of St Helens. A grand building with huge outdoor space. I looked at going to the major pub groups for lunch but decided to come here. Food was absolutely amazing and value for money. It was well cooked too. Staff were very friend
We had our son's 4th Birthday party here in July & it was an amazing experience. The staff are all so lovely & go the extra mile to make it a day to remember. All the Children loved it. Highly recommended for children's parties.
Bouncy castles, play area outside & soft play area inside! Lovely food with ample seating. Adults with no children can sit in another side of the pub/restaurant in peace. Only lost a star because the bouncy castles were in need of repairs or renewal due to holes everywhere. One actually went down d

Attended a party here. Large function room. Huge beer garden. Happy helpful staff in a clean and well looked after building. WIFI available and a decent food menu tho I didnt eat while here the food smelled great.
This pub is superb! we came here for my sons 4th birthday and it's now our go to place. The food is fantastic, they cooked the food perfectly and in particular chicken curry which was busrting with flavour, the kitchen team deserve alot of credit! All the front of house team were friendly, energetic
Great place for Sunday diner, going out with friends for drink . Nice for kids ( inflatable castle available outsider depending weather )
We only live down the road, we visit quite often, food is lovely and reasonably priced, never had a bad meal. Staff are lovely, very friendly and very chatty. Have entertainment on of a weekend. Separate kids room with play area, 2 bouncy castles outside (weather permitting). Function room. Lovely f
Great meal, I had Steak cooked the way I wanted it it was lovely. We're a big family get together about 25+ of us everyone enjoyed there meals not 1 bad word. New owner so well worth a visit. Only 1 problem No Cask ale. But can work on that. Great out door area and indoor play area for the kids had

Fantastic pub. Great atmosphere, great service delicious food. Very busy but worth the wait.
We visit friends regularly in St Helens and always go to the Black Bull for a meal. The food is plentiful and absolutely gorgeous. The homemade coleslaw is in a league of its own .

Amazing for children with the soft play area and bouncy castles, my boys love it. Food is also amazing, would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
