Very good condition and excellent greens. The staff were welcoming and served the society very good food and looked after us. I didn't have a buggy but wished I'd hired one. No, tbf I'm only mid 40's and quite fit but other less so may struggle. Amazing views great you once you climb the steep Tee boxes!

Excellent course with good greens and great views. Very hilly so expect a long walk or get a buggy. Friendly club house with good food and drink. Recommended

We hosted our annual golf day at Houghwood yesterday and I cannot recommend it highly enough. All of the staff were great, very polite and friendly. They really helped to make the day run smoothly and contributed to its success. The course was in great condition despite all of the recent heavy rain and everyone complemented it on the various tests it provided and the condition of the greens. The bar upstairs is newly refurbished and looks very modern and the terrace area provides a great view over the 18th and surrounding area. All guests were highly complementary of the food and service and the efficiency of how it was served so arriving guests before the golf and players coming in from the course had food served hot to them. The day was a big success so we thank all of the staff for this and the kind donation of a prize for our charity raffle was much appreciated too.

Greens in great shape. A good varied test of golf with great views as far as North Wales and Liverpool. Decent value for money. Friendly staff and good choice of food and drink.

One of the best courses I’ve ever played. Really well looked after although it is a tricky track. Lots of hills!

Top course, probably the best in the area, the only downside is I need a buggy.

Great golf course but not for the faint hearted, panoramic views across West Lancashire make the climb on some holes well worthwhile. Love the food and members bar overlooking the with green. Very friendly throughout.

Called in to have a look at the place. The Pro was very friendly and we had a good chat about the golf. We then went into the clubhouse and had a chat to a couple of the members and had a coffee. The course looked in very good condition and we were told that they play on the greens all year and buggies can be used all year. We will definitely be going back to play the course. At £25 and even cheaper on a County card it's a snip.

Really good course. First timer here but will be back. Greens were nt the best because of scarification but lads i played with say they are normally excellent. A very challenging walk. Plenty of buggies so get one!
