Delicious food and friendly and attentive waiters! The only criticism we had was that the service was a bit too efficient and we were on the verge of feeling rushed. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation for a pre-dinner drink, as recommended, but sadly the drinks took 30 minutes to arrive with us, by which time we were quickly shown to our table at our booking time precisely (as we were told that the chef wanted us seated). We then weren’t asked if we wanted any wine until our main course (which took barely any time at all to arrive). The waiter also brought us the bill without us asking, which added to the feeling of being ‘hurried along’. He then asked if we had any feedback and we mentioned the latter. Much to our surprise, the restaurant manager came to apologise to us and said we should have let them know to slow down the service (which was a rather disappointing response). Our entire meal including the 30 minutes prior was over within an hour and a half.. as this was a special occasion and we were spending a fair amount on the dining experience, it was a bit of a shame to feel as though we were rushed through from start to finish (and considering that there were still many full tables in the restaurant by the time we left).

We stayed in Jersey at the end of March 2023 and chose to stay in The Atlantic Hotel. The whole experience was nothing short of perfection, but this review will focus on The Ocean Restaurant (you can read my other review on my profile). The restaurant is warm and welcoming, and much like the rest of the hotel, feels grand and opulent.
The menu features modern British cuisine, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. When we dined we opted for the A la carte menu and chose a variety of dishes to sample. It’s hard to pick a highlight dish as they were all so good, but my Venison main course was fantastic. The desserts were spectacular too, with my partner commenting that the cheese board he had was incredible. They also offer a seasonal tasting menu too which we heard many diners compliment.
I was blown away by the experience. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. The front-of-house service team were clearly experts in their roles, and nothing was too much trouble. We also ordered some Espresso Martinis to finish, which the barman kindly made decaffeinated for us.
As we were staying in the hotel we had breakfast the following morning too. Usually, hotel breakfasts are a bit of a mediocre experience, but this was certainly not the case at The Ocean Restaurant. The continental selection was amazing, and the main dishes are served A la carte, so you don’t have to worry about a cold buffet breakfast. The coffee was very tasty too.
I would highly recommend the Ocean Restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable, and the setting is stunning. I plan to return in December and will certainly be looking forward to experiencing The Ocean Restaurant once again.
Probably the most special location in Jersey, especially on a sunny summer evening, with views across the pool, gardens and lawns, through the trees to St Ouen's bay. So serene. Then to food- tasting menu definitely one of the best meals you could have in Jersey. Every course was excellent. Lobster bisque ravioli really stood out. Service incredibly friendly- not pretentious, staff seemed genuinely happy and keen to explain the dishes. One of the best all round (location, food, service) dining experiences in Jersey without doubt.
Superb dinner in a quaint sea view setting. Simple food done very well with wonderful staff on hand to help out, even during off season they haven’t scrimped on service.
Only had breakfast but ,it was a lovely old fashioned type of setting .,..staff were friendly and attentive .
Excellent food. Rather slow service and maybe a rather stilted atmosphere. Menus online.. the house menu is very good but only served in the hotel foyer if the weather does not let you eat outside . We did not like eating with people passing by . The Market menu is served in the dining room and changed daily so you don't really have an idea what is on offer. A la carte excellent . Michelin standard and prices!

Cannot fault the dining experience here. Fabulous service and food. Choice of 3 menus and extensive wine list, if a little expensive. Still remembering a gorgeous black forest dessert. Would like to have seen more local shellfish on the menu but the food was fab.
Great attentive service under Covid 19 restrictions and food was good also. Mother's Day treat.
Lasting impressions: classy, elegant, nothing was too much trouble, exquisite service
Our experience: we came here for Sunday lunch to celebrate a double birthday and nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome, incredibly spoilt and had a wonderful meal. The food was fabulous (as you'd expect of a Michelin-starred restaurant), the service was fantastic, the restaurant was classy and our meander around the grounds after as we tried to waddle off our meals was very relaxing and pleasant. The views over St Ouen's Bay are lovely. The pastry chef did an amazing birthday cake. We were all left with a very favourable impression of the place.
The verdict: we all said that we would go back without hesitation.
We have eaten at a number or Michelin Star Restaurantes in the UK and France and we purposely book our trips around a good tasting menu.
To say this restaurant has only just launched this new menu, myself and my wife were very impressed.
The standard of food and speed of service was extremely good and would recommend to anyone.
Went for lunch which was part of their Christmas deal after staying the night in Feb . The two choices on the menu were both very tasty. The presentation was perfection on a plate.
The staff were both knowledgeable and very polite.
Lovely friendly attentive staff and good food but the attention to detail just missed the mark, e.g. burnt toast, past their best salad leaves. Not picky I know but it's attention to detail is what makes the difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant.
Staff were amazing! So attentive, professional, hilarious, knowledgeable. There was a vegan menu with three choices for each course. The food was EXCELLENT. Restaurant itself was immaculate. Recommending to everyone!!
