Always a friendly welcome for us and our dogs. Great selection of beers, Ales wines and spirits. Lovely decor, cosy and homely. A great selection of local history of St Athan on the walls around the pub. Food is delicious, fantastic choice, freshly prepared, really tasty and generous portions. The owners and the team make you feel welcome and are so friendly. Whether you're lucky enough to be a local or passing through, I would highly recommend a visit or two or three....

Had cheese and bacon burger and it came with chips and onion rings. Huge portion, more than I could eat, but it was delicious. Eton mess was delicious too. Would highly recommend.

Food was fabulous. Had main fish and chips , it was nice and 2 big pieces of fish in crispy batter. . Wife had bacon/cheese burger and was also well happy. . Portion sizes are more than adequate. Would highly recommend

Fabulous food at our meal for a pre wedding night catch up for family and friends. Wedding was at Gilestone Manor the next day which was withing walking distance 10 min walk. They had a quiz on in the bar and were very accommodating for our group to take part. A lovely evening. My son thoroughly enjoyed the mixed grill, I had gammon which was fab. My husband had scampi and my cousin a plant based meal which he said was lovely.

Not many vegan options but the burger is delicious! Large portions. Plant milks available for coffee and decaf options so a winner for me. Staff friendly and efficient.

Good night out! Huge portions so forego the starters. The steak and ale pie was traditional and filling, served with massive chips (frites); but doggy-bags were provided. Only downside was the karaoke which started far too early. The organiser started singing before any customers wanted to join in: noisy.

Lovely place with friendly staff. We had our two Yorkshire terrier dogs with us and when we where seated outside our waitress asked if she could bring a bowl of water for our dogs.its the simple things like that which make such a difference and make.you feel welcome... Later on in the evening we where offered blankets as we where sitting outside ... Fantastic service and the food was leaps and bounds beyond just pub food. Rate it thoroughly.. reason for only 4 stars was the renovations that where going on .. but I do believe once they are done the place will be worthy of 5 plus stars.. good job you lot.. keep it up, stay humble.

Food was great. Service even better and nice atmosphere. Only problem we were sat near the exit door which was a slow closing door. Got a bit cold.

Beautiful Sunday dinner, brilliant portion size and beautiful hand made mushroom Wellington could have ate double the portion of the Wellington.. Great portion of beef so definitely could increase Wellington size for vegetarians.. But by far one of the best Sunday dinners around!
