2nd visit in as many days. Previous night I feasted on the brisket and pulled pork but this time opted for a chilli burger. So good I could easily have had another, sweet potato chips awesome, some of the best I have tasted. Service great and friendly. Nice cakes for dessert too.
I love this restaurant! Especially the burgers, milkshakes and sweet potatoes😋 I would like to come here again. The atmosphere and services are also very good🥰
We stayed at Craigtoun Meadows campsite in our campervan and had dinner at The Smoked Thistle on the Saturday night. The food was amazing, best burgers we have had and the kids loved it too. Would highly recommend. Authentic American BBQ food. Great service too.

The Smoked Thistle at Craigtoun Meadows Caravan Site in St Andrews has been open a couple of weeks now.
We have had lunch in the restaurant and a take away meal.
For lunch we had pea and ham soup which was delicious (and a huge portion).
We shared a meat platter with an extra of onion rings. The portions were very large and very tasty indeed.
We planned to have cake but were too full! A treat for another day.
For the take away meal we has 1 Chicken burger (actually chicken breast), one Brisket burger (real brisket slices so burger is perhaps a misnomer) with some fries and some sweet potato fries. All superb.
The quality of the food is really good.
Take away food is ordered via a good eat App and we encountered problems with that and how it linked to the restaurant but we overcame this by direct messaging the Smoked Thistle. We let Ross know and he is checking it out to resolve any IT glitches. So if you try to book and have a problem send a message and the guys will sort it out.
Hopefully this new venture will get the support it deserves and we wish them well.
Looking forward to trying other dishes.

The food is spectular, portions are HUGE.
Super friendly staff who remembered us from our 1st visit in August. The place was recommended to us by our B&B hosts and it was so good we went back the next night. We were back up for a couple nights and spent another 2 nights enjoying the food and the company.
Already planning driving back to St Andrews on a day trip just to try their new menu.
Absolutely phenomenal food!! We are Americans in Scotland and this place has THE best American-style food around. It's always delicious and filling. Definitely a favorite in our house!
Went with friends after a walk around town. Restaurant is in middle of a fantastic activity area, totally safe and limited access to ensure safeplay area. We had the four meats and three side option. Wow totally blown away by the size and tase of best meat scotland can produce, the food was just excellent. Our server was a lovely lass who took time to explain all details of the menu. The gold medal goes to the chief who gave us a full BBQ meal in the middle of winter. I'm looking forward to next time we are in the area. We'll worth the journey from Dundee.
Had an amazing meal here over the weekend. Such a breath of fresh air to the usual takeaways in Dundee. Highly recommend The Smoked Thistle, the brisket is unbelievably delicious and the milkshakes are the best I have tasted. Will definitely be back soon!
Food was delicious, went with a party of 4 plenty of options available. Got the signature highlander burger, the clansman burger, cheese burger and veggie burger, onion rings texan beans! Top quality ingredients and cooked to perfection!! Will definitely be back. Staff were lovely and friendly.
Been a couple of times now. Brisket wrap and Burger were both delicious and chips are great. Mac cheese is well worth it too. Looking forward to going back to try milkshakes!
Wow, where do I start! The burger I had from these guys without a doubt is the best burger I have ever tasted. Dirty fries were absolutely amazing too and the Ribs ooft I didnt realise the size of the portion but that didn't stop me polishing them off. The milkshake is to die for aswell for sure a thick shake as described. Best tasting take away I have had since I can remember so thank you to the smoked thistle team customer for life right here.
We had a fantastic meal at the smoked thistle at the weekend. The ribs were massive! The dirty fries and chicken salad were also delicious. Great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Good food, a variety of sides and other rolls, wraps, worth trying. Favourite is the pulled pork and onion rings are really good. From what I'vetried. pulled pork is my number one preference, so far. Have tried brisket roll first time, enjoyed it. But I still prefer pulled pork.

Difficult start for you guys being overwhelmed they way you were. Having previously experienced your fare was not disappointed with what was served.
Could you please give a Dairy free option , that is void of all milk protein, that way can introduce a few more customers for you.

As an American currently living in Fife, can confirm this barbeque is legit! 10/10 food and 10/10 atmosphere. Definitely worth the trek from St Andrews and looking forward to going back.
