Great selection of food and service ,with the added bonus of being dog friendly with air conditioning.
The new menu is AMAZING! Not only was the food exceptional but all the staff were so friendly and welcoming! It is a great family environment and now that it is table service it makes it a lot easier with the little ones. There was clean plates all round!!! Will defiantly be recommending to all of my friends :)
Brilliant wee pub. Got a wee family section and lunch kids menu. Service was second to none. Food delicious!! Staff were just lovely!!
Smoked chicken melted in the mouth and sweet potato fries and pickled slaw were delicious. Will be back again

Brought my two King Charles Cavaliers with us for lunch. Staff are really friendly and the beer garden was really nice. Food was very good.

The best place in town to enjoy a good breakfast. It's kind of cheap too. I have been there with my friends a number of times and we always had a great time. Keep Ruling!
An actual customer. I have spent many an hour in pubs and restaurants in and around St Andrews as my job sees me socialising with many clients outside office hours. The Rule is one of the Bars in St Andrews that I have no problems with taking family, friends and clients. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff members are more than attentive.
Lunch and early evening drinks are the periods when I am more than likely to frequent The Rule and from what I can see they deliver both quality and quantity. (Lunch times are packed)
I felt compelled to leave this review as I feel that others may have miss represented the bars attributes. I do understand that a review is based on personal experience and others are entitled to their opinion. However the only CUBE you'll ever find in the Rule is the ice cube you get in your drink. If you know what I mean ;)
Please do "go and check it out" I'm more than sure they will not disappoint.

Great Place, Great staff, Great service!. The Staff here are by far the best and friendliest in town, they are very welcoming and havent got there heads stuck up there backsides like other places i can mention!
this place is by far the busiest in town but still there the quickest around. prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic value for money.
I'm in for lunch often and when it comes to sport there's really nowhere else to go!

An amazing place to spend time with your family and friends. This place has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. A beer garden is also available for bookings.
The food was amazing. Cooked well, tasted well and was served in a decent time.
The only things I did not like were the black, hard and burnt outer sides of the pizza. The cakes in the desserts too were very hard.
A group of us were on a golfing trip from Cheshire to St. Andrews and we came across this fantastic sports bar, excellent service, food very very good and an excellent range of beers and ciders, we only wish we'd have found The Rule earlier in our trip, you really need to give Wing Wednesday a go, absolutely fantastic, we will definitely return on our trip next year. Thanks again to the staff for a very warm welcome.

good atmosphere, the nachos was good but small and cold.
A nice and simple food menu makes it easy to choose from, all were good quality. The pizza I would class as top quality with both taste and size, however, the burger was lacking a little flavour but made up with quantity. Pleasant staff all around, dog friendly and plenty of TV's with multiple channels screening simultaneously for all your sporting needs. Would definitely visit again.
Had a lovely meal for my mothers 60th birthday. Whole family really enjoyed it.
Was a Sunday when we came in so wasn’t to busy but the staff were attentive and friendly.
Plenty of TVs to watch the football and golf as well so I was a happy boy.

Went to the rule with our two small kids. Was served by James and Hannah . Anna made sure kids were kept amused with crayons and colouring sheets. All staff friendly and chatty. Nice pub with friendly atmosphere and plenty tvs to watch. Food was lovely and served quickly. Would recommend.
Nice evening here, delicious cocktails and gin choices! Atmosphere was spot on for us to watch the rugby. Place was very busy but staff were great and very accommodating. Will be back.
I had the pleasure of visiting this bar during my golf trip to St. Andrews, and I must say, the highlight of the experience was the exceptional service provided by Ethan.
He went above and beyond to ensure our drinks were always filled and our orders were promptly taken care of. If you're in town, this is definitely the place to be, especially if you're lucky enough to be served by Ethan.

Stopped in for a meal with the family after visiting St Andrews beach. They were so accommodating to our large group of 8 adults and 6 children. Had ages from senior on down to 7 months old. Food was delicious all around and the service was top notch! Will definitely return the next time we are in town.
Was quite impressed when we came in for lunch and Omar was able to find out what our daughter who has two allergens could eat. Food portions were good and service was fast!

Great pub with plenty of space both indoors and outside. Decent menu with some nice food choices. There was a young man served us,think he was called Ethan ,very courteous and polite. The atmosphere is lively and there was some good music playing not the usual generic pop you get in some pubs. Will definitely be returning
From the staff to the food, everything was great, very polite and attentive. Our party of 5 all enjoyed the food and it was just a 15 min wait after the waiter took our order. Would defo go back
Excellent service yesterday popped in with some family, was served by Louise and another lovely girl, had such a laugh with them they suggested to my auntie to try a new whiskey and she absolutely loved it! The girls couldn’t be any nicer and anymore helpful. Will be returning :) student discount is also amazing here.
Visited here today after a poor show from another restaurant in St Andrews. Sat out the back in the dog friendly eating area. Staff attentive, food was amazing and very filling. Great value for money, well worth a visit if your in St Andrews, will definitely be back.
We had a booking for 30 & had a super night, great food, great service & perfect space to allow us to relax , have a dance & catch up with each other. Special shout out to Omar who looked after us really well, as did all the squad. Will def be back & would not hesitate to recommend 🤩
