My friend treated us to lunch at Hotel du Vin yesterday, using an Itison voucher. We managed to park right outside the hotel, which was a great start, especially since there was still some residual ice around. We were very impressed with the interior decor and everywhere looked clean and crisp. We received a warm welcome from the young man at reception, who took us through to the restaurant. The waitress there was also welcoming and gave us what we thought was the best table, looking straight out over the bay. She was very well informed and explained a couple of things about our menu choices. We liked the offerings for all three courses, eventually opting for steak tartare, fish bouillabaisse and profiteroles with ice cream and our voucher included a glass of champagne. This was the first time either of us had tried steak tartare or bouillabaisse and we both thought they were delicious. The ice cream and profiteroles were superb too. Even at normal prices, we felt the menu offers excellent value and we would recommend Hotel to Vin to anyone who enjoys French cuisine.
Stayed here recently and attended a Champagne dinner. Could not fault a single thing. Check in was friendly and efficient, our room was perfection with the most incredible view over the water. My husband is a Chef and not easily impressed when we dine out but even he was silent when the food was served. Breakfast in the morning was great and exactly what we needed to set us up for the day. Highly recommend.
Had the pleasure of spending my Birthday there. Had an fantastic meal, made some friends and really enjoyed the room upgrade (views were amazing).
A big thanks to all that were involved from room attendants, reception staff, waiting staff, management, KPs and chefs (hope I've not missed any one out). You all made our stay memorable. Thank you all so much
Love love loved this place. 1st time staying here and had a small but beautiful room on the 2nd floor.
The bed was super comfy and had the super warm duvet.
Breakfast was out of this world......the selection of options ranging from tasty yoghurt .....freshly squeezed orange juice.......to the most amazing poached eggs with my breakfast.
Can't wait to go back
Had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday with my sister. We had a table with a view, the food and the service were excellent, the candy floss was a lovely touch.
Had a fabulous afternoon tea, food was amazing especially the gin sorbet, staff were very helpful and attentive especially Sue. Hats off to the chef grant, will definitely be back!!!
Had afternoon tea here yesterday and it was outstanding. Great selection of food, something for everyone and absolutely delicious. Staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. Superb surroundings. Ten out of ten guys.
Me & my daughter went here today for Afternoon Tea, it was a really nice hotel where the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely, I would recommend this hotel to my friends, thank you to the staff for a very pleasant day, x
Excellent afternoon tea this afternoon. Food was fab. Setting lovely and the staff were on top form.
Fine hotel, great room and good food. Dinner and breakfast. Wonderful staff too and that showcases any establishment so well done to all of them. One wee thing though. Was asked if wished to have a morning paper. Yes. Asked for The National and assured that would be fine. No paper. Would I have been more successful had I asked for The Scotsman or the ‘Scottish’ Daily Mail say? Just a thought. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
The unplanned dinner at the hotel restaurant chain on the seaside turns out to be better than expected.
The sourdough baguette is quite dense as a usual airy baguette but still tastes soft, moist, and slightly bouncing as a nice baguette-shaped sourdough.
Tiger prawn is a tasty starter that is flavorful enough in the chili garlic sauce even without the aioli.
The confit duck leg salad is great. The duck well seasoned and tender, with a slightly crispy skin. The edamame and bacon is lovely.
Fillet appears a little dry but still tastes tender.
House salad and chips are pretty good too.
The main is a little slow, but the staff are helpful.
Service was super. The food was excellent. On a wild and wind day, the Bistro was a little cool, especially for the lady at the window. But most enjoyable. We will recommend and we will be back!!
Spent 8 days here and enjoyed it all. Very good restaurant. Breakfast is terrific. All the staff is great..Alastair & Lynn at front office..Joanne morning breakfast & Thomas at dinner.
Quaint bar, back yard patio, room service and nice rooms( not big, but very nice).
300 yards to the old course 1st tee & 18th Green. Easy walk to everything St Andrew's...
A bistro with very nice atmosphere and food. I ordered lamb, sole, and mussels. All were perfectly cooked. The servers were also very nice and friendly.
It was a lovely meal except for roast porchetta, it was chewy not much meat on it that was chewable, the polenta was soupy, otherwise everything was delicious.
Popped in for a drink before dinner and was impressed. Plush interior with mood lighting creates a very relaxing environment. Staff were friendly and an extensive drink selection
Comfortable and Great food. Their Malbec exceptional.
Tasty good, service excellent. Surprisingly good value
Nice interior - esp the bar - and good service. Food is decently good as well.
Visited here with an Itison voucher for a cream tea with a glass of prosecco. We were very impressed with the scones and cakes as well as the service.
