A gem of a place in South Street. (Think we saw a smaller one in Market Street too?). Food, service and value for money all get a five star rating. Gorgeous alfresco dining. Don't pass this cafe by.

Very accommodating staff who allowed us to sit inside as we had our dog with us and my wife didn't want to sit outside as it was cold. Tea, coffee and bacon rolls hit the mark. Will be back

Zest 2 go is the best lunch option in St. Andrews by far. The salad boxes are incredible, with a huge range of ingredients available every day, and the student survival pack (with a regular salad, bottle of water, piece of fruit and nut bar, all for £5.95) is my go to study lunch. There is a great range of smoothies and juices, with a cheeky student offer (free upgrade from regular to large). Remember to bring cash, as they don't take card, but if you forget, there's a cashpoint just round the corner. Thanks guys, keep doing what you're doing!

I am a photographer and as the light was great that day we decided to change plans and simply head off to St Andrews. We found Zest through Itison and bought and printed the voucher before we left home not really knowing what to expect. It was simply brilliant. Great work ethos about the place but more importantly great and interesting fresh food.

Though this rustic, charming cafe was busy, I greatly enjoyed coming here for the tea and soup. I came here for my birthday, and though the staff were harried with all the customers, they provided kindly service. The soup of the day, butternut squash, proved a creamy autumnal delight, and I equally enjoy my steaming, sweet Earl Grey tea. Payment is easy here, and you can take as much time as you need with your food without feeling rushed. I recommend sitting outside and sipping your warm beverage and watching the excited crowds of people pass along the old stone streets.

We were up in St Andrews for a day out and just looking for somewhere to have a coffee, everywhere was full. We stumbled across We Are Zest, glad we did as I would rather pay my money to a good cause rather than some big conglomerate that really doesn't care. We had lovely cappuccinos, a fresh scone, butter and jam and a rather gorgeous toffee crispy cake. I couldn't believe how quiet it was inside. It was lovely and cool, with comfy seats and a great atmosphere. If I lived nearby I would be in every day for a coffees. Would highly recommend a visit if you are ever in St Andrews.

Fab people, delicious food and lovely space. Will definitely revisit. The lady sat with her dog who visits twice a week for a bacon roll was a joy as well. Vegetarian breakfast, hot chocolate and bacon roll all recommended.

Good selection of food (including veggie and vegan options) plus coffee and unusual teas (e.g. London Fog). I had the soup which was tasty, husband enjoyed his baguette which they put on a plate with dressed salad and vegan coleslaw. Cakes rounded off the visit nicely.

A social hub employing people with some disabilities. Gave them the trade for that reason and were rewarded with lovely coffee and cake and very polite service.

Lovely vegan breakfast and great coffee. Sat out in the sun and watched the world go by. A social enterprise worth supporting too.

Really nice staff who were exceptionally busy. Lovely pots of tea made with tea leaves! Delicious cakes & pastries. Flashing light panel system for ladies/disabled toilet access, which could prove difficult for those with poor eye sight, but I made the staff aware so perhaps this will be rectified in future as my companion couldn't have used it. Highly recommend this cafe for both sit in and takeaway.
