We had our evening meal here with 12 other family members as part of our wedding day after my husband had brought me here a year ago for my first ceilidh. All the staff were amazing from start to finish in helping us create a menu that catered for all our guests, and communication was excellent, which ensured that we had everything we needed for the day. We had one of the Bothies which was the perfect size for us all and made the meal that bit more special. The food was excellent and the drink packages were a real added bonus. The ceilidh in the evening was great fun and the band even called me and the groom up for the first dance of the evening. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back again!
Went there today for a family lunch with 15 people. It was fantastic. The venison stovies are to die for. The selection of gin and tonics was impressive. Everyone's food was superb and the service was spot on. Highly recommend for anyone going to St. Andrew's.
There was 8 of us eating at Forgan's last night. The whole experience was a very pleasant one. Service, food and ambiance could no have been better. Three of us chose from a very good gluten free menu. All items chosen did not disappoint. Would recommend this place. Especially on a Friday or Saturday. Can't wait to come back for another try.
I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast and nice coffee. The staff are friendly and cheerful . It’s an unusual restaurant in decor , very worth seeing . I’ve also had good dinners and lunches there . I like it , I’ll be back . X
This was our first visit to Forgans, the service from the moment we arrived till we left was excellent. The food was amazing and well worth the couple of pound more than we would normally pay for a Monday night, on the plus side Monday is wine night where you bring your own bottle and pay £5 corkage which reduces the bill. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Forgans.
Great service all staff very friendly and welcoming Food was really tasty 😋 Would definitely recommend a visit Would 100%go back
A beautiful restaurant, exceptional food and friendly and attentive staff. French coach trip arrival was a bit of a shock to the calm atmosphere but the staff managed them really well!
Lovely food staff couldn't do enough for us had a very relaxing meal will defo come back
The rump of lamb was delicious, soft, tasty and perfectly cooked. A great restaurant with a lively vibe and traditional Scottish dancing. Highly recommended.
Lobster bisque is broth. Fish and chips is very good. Beef stew was average.
Went here for lunch to try some classic Scottish dishes. There was a bit of wait for the server to find us a table. Ordered the haggis myself as an appetizer which could have been a main itself since the serving was very generous. For the main, had the ox Cheek Stew which was gorgeous. However I had to deduct a point for the smoked haddock(?) soup as there were no fish meat present and the pork chop was a bit dry.
Had lunch here whilst visiting my daughter at St Andrews. It’s a beautiful little restaurant. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend the ox cheek stew and the sticky toffee pudding.
A group of 7 people, we visited Forgan's for lunch on a weekday.
We were seated at a very nice wooden table with plenty of room around us.
The main hall was very nice, service was friendly and effective.
Every plate we ordered was very good, 4-5 stars.
Prices were reasonable in my opinion.
Easy recommendation !
Be sure and make a reservation, as this popular spot is always busy. And rightly so! Beautiful spot for a fine meal. Very good service from start to finish. I recommend the pork chop. Brilliantly displayed and equally tasty. Thanks for great experience.
The food is stunning, carefully crafted, good portion sizing for feeling satisfied and very tasty. Although It took forever to come (35 minutes), very nice waitress who was kind and caring, answered my questions and took a lot of effort so we tipped. I like the seats, they are very comfortable, but very close together so don’t get much privacy from other tables. The bathroom smelled like bleach and they have a strong smell of old people, they are secluded bathroom which makes up for it.
Recommended by a Scottish friend and did not disappoint! Had the full experience with a haggis, cranachan and of course a ceilidh - the band were excellent and demonstrated everything perfectly for newbies like me. Our waiter Faith was lovely, too!
Great restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive. Menu had a great variety to select from and tasted good.
Really loved it, the food was amazing. We had the mousse and the duck, and it was delicious. The service is impeccable. The place is also nicely decorated. 👌
How this isn’t 100% 5 stars across the board is astounding to me. By far and away the best dining experience in St Andrews, best service and best farm to table food. “Highly recommend, certified fresh”
Visited for Sunday Roast, simple options of sirloin, chef’s roast (pork) and vegan option. Large portion of the meal. The Yorkshire pudding could have been better, the steak was very nice. 9/10 ambience and very friendly staff. Loved the music playlist as well. The cocktail menu is also very exciting.
Good food and really cool atmosphere. Service was a tad slow
First time at Forgans and have to say very impressed. Great service, good food and lots of atmosphere. Prices somewhere between pub and hotel but quality definitely there.
First place we ate at in Scotland. Great ambiance. Relaxing and delicious food. Couldn't ask for more.
A St Andrews tradition with amazing food reasonably priced and staff that are super friendly and helpful .
Had my Sunday dinner. Staff were lovely and attentive. Nice spacious rustic restaurant with an impressive entrance.
Roast beef dinner with roast carrots and parsnip. Roast potatoes and yorkie. Minimum veg but would definitely go again. Delicious liqueur coffee to finish xx
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here - food was excellent throughout and it's a unique space unlike any we could remember. Service was a little inconsistent (starters arrived before our drinks) but it seemed more due to inexperience of the young staff vs. a lack of attention, so was easily forgiven. Highly recommended for large groups.
