The pub reopened in March 2020 following a major revamp under new licensees. It now has a more contemporary feel, describing itself as a Premium Sports Bar. The central bar has now gone, replaced by a very attractive bar along the back wall. The garden area along one side is very well kitted-out, allowing people to watch live sports either inside or out. Also a nice outdoor area at the front. I’ve been in twice now since the revamp and really enjoyed it both times. I hadn’t been in for a few years as I had some ‘uncomfortable’ experiences with some of the previous clientele. Thankfully that all seems to be sorted now.

Great night at The Victoria pub for the quiz tonight! The pub is lovely inside, with nice staff and a great drinks list. My friends and I really enjoyed the quiz (and our winning drinks!) Was surprised that there was no food served though. I didn’t eat dinner as I thought I’d get something before it started so I turned up early, but there was only crisps. I was the only person in the pub at 6:30pm for 20mins, and the only people that walked in the door for 2 hours were the 20 or so playing the quiz. Defo think the pub are missing a trick by not serving evening dinner!

Great evening at The Victoria for their new Monday pub quiz. Friendly staff and the place has a great atmosphere. Plus we won the quiz :) Only downside is they don’t serve food on Mondays…

Corrrr where to begin…. I’m lost for words. Outstanding. Phenomenal. The best chips I’ve ever had in my life !!! The inches and black wow o wow they give me a inch and it feels like a mile. If you have been living under a rock and not entered this fine establishment then I would highly recommend you do. Best pub in town, actually no best pub in England!!! I don’t think I’ll ever leave!

I walked into the bar and was not greeted. I ordered online my Victoria special burger and chips n Pepsi however took 10 minutes to get my drink. The was not hapoy sering the waiters pulling up the trousers every 5 mins. Also hanging around the bar looking board. While eating my burger no asking iff the food was OK, food was lovely however the service of the waiter was a bit off. Lovely bar. But hey. It can't be 100 percent. Would I go back. No.

Fantastic place to eat. Came across this place whilst visiting St Albans. Went in as a group of 4. Ashley was an amazing host, friendly helpful and accommodating. Child friendly. Clean and nicely decorated. The food really well presented and tasty. The chicken caesar salad and hot wings amazing. We highly recommend this place for family and friends. Thanks Ashley
