We were ably led by Dave round St Albans Cathedral on a very interesting trip back in time. He was extremely well informed and we enjoyed listening to his stories. We followed this with afternoon tea in The Abbots Kitchen which was very tasty and very good value. All in all we would highly recommend this as a day out.

A lovely little cafe, with a warm atmosphere, good quick service and not bad value. My friend and I both had Jacket potatoes with beans, a cake (Almond and dark cherry bakewell slice and a choc tray bake) and teas. These 3 came to £13.65 altogether. The potatoes were beautifully baked, piping hot and with yummy coleslaw and mixed leaves on the side. The tea pot loose leaf which held around 3 full cups.

Dropped a visit to St. Albans Cathedral and was surprised that they have this Alban Bun. This is only available during Lent and definitely a must try. They said that this is the predecessor of hot cross bun. We had it nice and warm as its just been baked when we bought it. Just take note of pre ordering as they are very keen of its production.

I have eaten here a few times over the years. The food is very good and the staff were friendly. I would recommend the jacket potatoes, they are very tasty!

A nice cafe that is hidden off the main entrance of the cathedral. They have a great range of sandwiches, hot food and cakes as well as hot and cold drinks. It's handy if you are visiting the cathedral, or even if you are meeting up with friends in the area.

Lovely space. Modern and light and clean. The food is prepared on site. We had the vegetarian quiche - the pastry was to die for! 10/10. Lose one star for getting my order wrong despite carrying out the staff instructions for ordering the toasted sandwich as requested (vegetarian given ham and cheese). Then staff going on to try and explain it away ...nope...but the happy accident and delicious quiche made up for it. Feedback to staff at the time. Friendly and personable. Liked it alot. And not too expensive either.

Slightly expensive but for a good cause. Coffee is good. Good selection of pastries. Simple lunch options. In run up to Easter they offer St Alban's buns - said to be the forerunner of the modern Easter hot cross buns.

One of my favourite places to visit. After a lovely touring around the most magnificent cathedral in UK, filling your soul, Abbots kitchen comes to your belly's rescue with their amazing soups, sandwiches, desserts, coffees. When visiting St Alban's in any circumstances, you must stop there.

This place was busy when we visited, but the counter staff kept it organised, quick and were polite. Great choice of cake and drinks. Located in the Cathedral itself, worth a visit. Remember that being pay when you order easy to forget to leave a tip, if you enjoy the service show your appreciation.

Decent coffee, cakes and light meals. Service can be a little slow but as proceeds help maintain the wonderful cathedral that can easily be endured.
