Really good. Very nice room.. warm, quiet. Excellent service. Food was very good and prices very reasonable for lunch. Fairly full on a weekday lunchtime, and deservedly so. Strongly recommended.
Nice Italian Restaurant. Service is good and food was nice.
I wouldn't recommend the garlic bread starter as it was very plain, more like a naan bread.
Absolutely 10 out of 10 , staff are amazing. They accommodated us even though they were about to close. Very friendly and family orientated atmosphere. They offered us free shots and we ended up partaking in activities with the staff. They were very patient as we were the last to leave. I will be back
came here for my birthday meal and was not disappointed!
staff are so friendly and attentive, service in general is amazing. the restaurant is so so pretty (especially after the recent renovations!) and make for amazing instagram/social media pics. the food was absolutely delicious and served fresh - definitely will be returning to this charming restaurant! 🫶🏽
This is very fast becoming my favourite Italian in St Albans
They’ve made the restaurant really beautiful lately with windows opening fully on to the cobbled street, beautiful blossom trees outside & tables spilling out on to the cobbles.
I’ve a favourite table which the staff always try their best to accommodate, and the pizza is always fresh and delicious.
Sensibly priced wine & cocktails (start with the Hugo!) and lovely service.
Highly recommend & delighted to see his busy they’ve become
Gorgeous food and wine. So much seafood in the linguine di mare (I think that's what it was called) and excellent service. Will come again
Food ok, but portions small for price....this could be because I've just returned from Crete who are the exact opposite.
Very noisy as we were sat next to a table of 8 young ladies, why girls have to be so screechy and shout over each other, I don't know, but not too bad once they'd left.
Service was ok, but a lot of banging and clattering, especially when throwing bottles in the bin.
I didn’t even know this place had an upstairs so that was a lovely surprise. We started with the meatballs which was delicious, i then had the seafood di mare, if I had to be really picky I think my pasta was slightly overdone but this didn’t affect my meal. Overall a really love experience, staff are friendly and food is good!
Very nice restaurant and lovely staff, the food is delicious like home made italian food ! loved it.
For the third time, and I absolutely love the food and the service. The staff are so friendly and genuinely kind. Thank you for being patient with asking for what’s not on the menu and always dealing with a smile. Plus food is so delicious!
We found this lovely Italian restaurant by chance and were very glad we did. We had nibbles and then pizzas which were delicious. The service from Lewis our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, he went above and beyond to make our visit special.
We would certainly recommend a visit to this delightful restaurant.
Prompt, friendly service makes this a good place to pop into for a quick bite or drink to break up a shopping spree or to have a leisurely meal in the unrushed atmosphere.
This family-run restaurant has two floors. The tables are a touch close together but I had a pleasant exchange with the people on the tables to each side.
Our Funghli e Tartufo pizza was scrumptious even if the crust was a little chewy for a teddy bear. The truffle sauce is made on the premises.
Salt and pepper mills are on the table. This is great as they don’t t that pretentious display of grinding the giant pepper mill as is often the case in Italian eateries.
Service is not included in the bill.
Stumbled across this restaurant in St. Albans and it was a lovely surprise. The seafood linguine was well cooked, taste fresh and the portion was generous. Good customer service. The mushroom arancini was ok.
A lovely restaurant to have your lunch at while visiting St.Albans.
We walked in without a reservation. We got lucky as while there were plenty of tables, by the time we were leaving they all were occupied.
The food was great and the staff very friendly and efficient.
Salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes was delicious.
My other half was very happy with her Seabass.
Thank you
Visited Aug2022 for lunch al fresco. Superb food, a great wine list, excellent service and an unbeatable location. Located in French Row, St Albans, the restaurant has limited outdoor space to use and has found furniture that fits just right. For outdoor diners, the location is ideal for people-watching while munching. The food is excellent, well-cooked, packed full of flavour and in generously portions. The beef ragu (or bolognaise sauce, seems to be the same) has a deep, savoury flavour, packed with umami. The rizotto di mare was rich and strongly flavoured with a large number of mussels. The wine sampled today was a merlot from Veneto which matched the beef ragu (the wine was not tested with the rizotto di mare). Glorious.
My first time here and was very impressed! The seating was beautiful, cosy and traditional. Service was perfect 10/10. Food was delicious, I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese was great, I would have liked it more salty but thats just my opinion. The Tiramisu was excellent!
What a amazing restaurant! Staff so friendly
Didnt rush you
Food was exquisite
Will definitely be going back
