I've eaten here several times and love it every time. Last time I went for a Sunday Roast, it was great. The freshly made Yorkshire pudding was delicious. Good service staff. However, in July 2023, when I just visited, t restroom is broken and use a mobile toilet instead. I hope it will be renovated soon and for sure I will come back to eat here again.

Great pub fare. Staff were super friendly and accomodating. Great place for a late lunch, clean and nice ambience. Would recommend the sunday roast as well as the Chili Jam Halloumi Fries.

Fabulous welcome! Great service and friendly staff ! Food and drinks are superb. And at last a pub that cares , plastic straws that aren't plastic and they last for the whole drink ! Well done!

We have walked by this place multiple times and finally decided to give it try because it's always busy. I was amazed at how large it was - the looks were deceiving - it was much more impressive on the inside than the out. If you didn't look for it you would never notice the huge outdoor beer garden in the back complete with ping pong table and heat lamps. Although we did not dine in - we had a few cocktails and they were innovatively fun.

Friendly at the bar while ordering, food arrived quickly, portions were big and tasted great. Internal and external seating, with a variety of options with stools, armchairs and benches, so great for groups with reservations possible if necessary. Accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs with multiple entry/exit points.

I love the strawberry daiquiri cocktail (but is not the one that I have in the picture) Customer service is really friendly and quick. The venue is really busy, especially during the weekends. Sometimes there is a lot of young kids around, causing some trouble but it is what it is. Nice outdoor space, especially during the summer period.

Nice restaurant-bar. Service was friendly but we had very little of it ( order via app and pay upfront via card, food and drink brought to your table, you leave when done). The burger and chicken skewers were good. The fries especially nice

Not bad we thought, three small dishes for £15 four small dishes for £20. Food came over cooked and dry, one of the dishes was near black it was so over fried, that was such a shame. But it was certainly a lively loud place on a Saturday night, so after a few drinks and a few more - you wouldn't be worrying about the food too much. I added another star to my review, as yes it was a very busy night... and I got such a nice reply. I will certainly try again when next in St Albans maybe visit on a quieter day. Thanks.

I’ve been visiting here for almost 20 years, so have seen one major transformation and a more minor one (just over two years ago). The original surroundings were badly in need of a major makeover and indeed it worked well. Great outdoor drinking/eating area and no children (actually no one under 21) worked brilliantly, IMHO! The latest refurbishment, to me, works less well! Tripping over pushchairs isn’t a positive! Also the bar staff are either more hassled or less attentive - not sure which! PS. Visited again on a weekday afternoon for a drink and lunch. Have to say that the staff were great - really friendly. Makes me want to come back!

One of my favourite places to eat in St. Albans, staff are very friendly, location is pretty much dead centre and they do very nice food. Desserts so far have been a bit lacking but the starters (especially the croquettes and chicken bites) are fantastic and there’s a nice main course selection too.
