Love this place! It's got such a nice atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The best of all is their tiered garden area. There's a dedicated BBQ section alongside their normal menu and a drinks area too and a small playground for kids.
Fantastic country pub, really a stately home. Set in beautiful, tranquil gardens. The food is always excellent and the wines are great as well. Dog friendly dining in a luxurious setting! One great idea they have is to combine tea / coffee with a small portion of any of their desserts. Genius! Every
This is a gem of a place! My husband found this place on Google and we went for the first time. It’s so nicely decorated - a nice vintage vibe and the outside area is so spacious with lots of greenery so great for families to come with their little ones. There were some swings too. We only had drink
A great selection of drinks, lovely food with excellent service.
Had loads of gluten free options and the menu was labelled! I’ve been a couple times and it’s great, nice atmosphere and interior. They also have gf chips and onion rings🙏🏼
This beautiful Regency building that was so close to demolition has thankfully been extensively refurbished and renovated into an intimate up market restaurant by a fine dining organisation. The interior has antique furnishings and prints and the individual dining areas feature roaring log fires and
Never knew this place existed, nice entrance with sweeping drive, large garden, great for outside dining. Main building is like a country house, old English pub style but with plenty of space between tables. Food is decent, better than standard pub fare if not up to dedicated restaurant standard. Se
Yesterday we discovered this beautiful pub/country estate . The house is stunning and the food was fantastic. Service was faultless even though it was a very busy Sunday afternoon. They are super 🐕 friendly and we will be joining their dog walk in a week or so . Can't recommend it enough 5 stars ✨️
I came here with members of my family for an evening meal. We received a wonderful warm welcome from Xavier who was as charming and friendly as all the other waiters who had served us on many occasions in the past. The building and decor are lovely with really interesting pictures everywhere. The gr
Wonderful pub on the edge of St Albans, with indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as a large beer garden. The menu is loaded to the website every day, and dietary requirements are extremely well catered for. There is a separate gluten free menu with lots of options. The carpark is large but does
Great food&service! Loved the veggie pie and cauliflower soup.
Large pub restaurant in an old country house with gardens. Good food and nice service.
Great lunch. A varied menu and all items could be reduced to a "light bite". Nice touch! Lots of parking spaces and plenty of room for a party of 10. Stylish setting with ample room to eat/drink outside. Excellent service and a pleasant ambience.
Great food and atmosphere! We had the Fried Seabass (fillet, a great addition so that we did not have to pick out the bones) and the Roast Chicken, and everything was perfect. The Triple Chocolate Brownie was also amazing. The weather and the sun played also a big part in the experience. Will defini
My husband and I went for an early meal on a Monday evening. Happy to see that the restaurant was filling up and enjoying a lovely atmosphere. A beautiful interesting building, warm and cosy with fires burning brightly in different rooms. Service was polite, helpfully and very accomodating. We had t
This pub is lovely. The staff, decor and the ambience is welcoming and cosy. They have a lovely roaring fireplace which you can sit next to and enjoy a drink. We had the turkey roast and the vegetarian mushroom, chestnut and lentil Wellington. My husband said the turkey roast is one of the best ro
Was very busy when we went. Staff were honestly very helpful and polite . I had the beer battered cod. The batter was way to thick for my liking. Definitely go pay it a visit. The building interior is stunning.
Simple but quality food, service a little frustrating at times, great atmosphere. I payed for a straight forward two coarse meal for two, and a glass of wine. £75 !
