I came in today (18th July) and the young guy working there in the afternoon gave me great service and one of the best sandwiches I ever ate. The chicken Italia with the spicy olives, god damn. Can't recommend this place enough!

The best and only Italian deli in St Albans worth visiting. Always top quality food & wine with friendly service. If you have time stop for an expresso & a bite to eat, you will not regret it.

Fantastic selection of fresh and dried pastas, delicioso pannini (Danny's favorite on focaccia is now my favorite too), and even though it's clearly a "neighborhood" spot, newcomers quickly become friends.

I love this deli - great service even when they are really busy and the produce is excellent. Visiting Buongiorno Italia to stock up is a big part of my run up to Christmas (and Easter) and they never let me down. The lunch menu is great also, always treat myself to a Mortadella Ciabiatta when I'm there.

A must-visit Italian deli if you are in St Albans or look for gourmet Italian ingredients to make of a meal an unforgettable experience. You can also buy or enjoy on site delicious sandwiches, desserts or pastries and tasty coffeee. Do not miss it. It's really good value, a quiet location, some tables to eat al fresco and an excellent variety of products to do your groceries on a daily basis. The staff is super friendly and the shop is spotlessly clean.

I had intended to visit here for years as I’d heard that it sold authentic Italian produce, but finally dropped by to buy frozen pizza dough-balls. At 1pm on a Friday afternoon this little shop was incredibly busy, with customers queuing for sandwiches to be made-up from the deli counter, and others eating outside. I was very happy to wait, giving me time to take in the huge array of goods they have. My dough-balls were only £3.95 for a bag of four, each enough for a 10 inch pizza base, so great value. I also picked up some biscotti and other treats while I was waiting. Despite being so busy, the staff were all really friendly and welcoming. The meats, cheeses, olives, arancini etc all looked amazing, and the range of goods on the shelves is impressive. Definitely the best Italian deli in the area; I could spend a lot of money here! I’ve been back already, within a few days of my first visit, hence the mid-afternoon pictures when it was quieter.

Visited this place after a recommendation to buy ingredients to make homemade pizza in my new pizza oven. The gentleman serving me was extremely helpful and shared loads of useful tips! The ingredients were all delicious but the frozen pizza dough and mozzarella were especially delicious. Highly recommend.

Went to Buongiorno Italia today to pick up some everyday food like pesto, lemon marmalade, chinotto, pistachio creme, and some lovely fresh bread + cheeses, plus some Christmas goodies - Panbriacone, Panpepato, lovely Italian biscuits, and a Pear & Sultana Panettone. Had a delicious ciabatta and coffee breakfast on the terrace outside, and we've just had BI's amazing home-made Lasagne for dinner with a dressed herb salad and a bottle of Rosapasso Biscardo that was in our wine rack. Oh my GOD that Lasagne was amazing!! Best we've ever tasted by far. Still got their home-made Tiramisu to look forward to in a minute for dessert. Absolutely love this place, no matter how busy they are (and they get VERY busy, another good sign) service is always with a smile, and a cheeky comment or two from Tony 😉 Thanks Tony and all at Buongiorno Italia ❤️

This deli has been established since 1978 so that speaks for itself; to sustain a business for this long you must be doing something right. The team here will help and guide you through any food questions so that you get the best produce for your needs. I enjoy the great selection of salamis and olives especially. They also do lovely cantuccini and pastries to eat on the go if you fancy a quick treat. I needed some double zero flour on my last trip to make pizza. It’s always buzzing with people but service is quick - they’re not slow, just popular so be prepared to queue for 5-10 mins at busy periods. It’s well worth the wait.

I absolutely adore this place. Blood oranges are wonderful. But the buffalo mozzarella is their golden goose, it's better than any mozzarella I have tried even in Italy.
