The Smoke House Deli - St Albans - Photo album

Tucked away in parade of shops you wouldn’t expect this place was well worth the visit! They smoke their own meat, sandwiches were superb, fries for kids perfect, lovely pancakes, big old Italian coffees snd nice deli stuff to buy. Proper service from old school Italian Gels and his team meant wel
Great start to finish Lived around here as a kid, was Hulse the best greengrocers in the area Nice selection of sandwiches and cakes etc, friendly staff, I hope this is a success for many yesrs to come
I went there today for lunch being new around the area and decided to try their Jerk Chicken sandwich and i must say after the first bite, it is the best jerk chicken sandwich i have ever had and super tasty! Love the portion size and the garlic mayo makes it a game changer! Highly recommend!
Pretty good food from a hidden gem but with a couple of tweaks this could be one to be sought out... a real destination. Firstly the food quality is good and with nice bread choices (hey guys don't give me a slightly burnt toast next time...). Good coffee, nice ingredients and well done like i like
Amazing place! We moved away over a year ago - today we were lucky enough to be visiting and called in for Brunch. They did not disappoint....Best Eggs Benedict ever - truly superb!! With the most amazing staff. Thank you.
This is the best sandwich place in St Albans by far. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the owner goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers needs. Would highly recommend if you want the tastiest food around! Eggs Benedict is to die for and the jerk chicken melts in the mouth! Yum!
Nice hidden gem - wondered in just to pop my head in not thinking I'd buy anything but was so welcomed in and confidently recommend a choice sat down to eat. Quality ingredients put together really well. Will return!
Always a warm welcome, an absolute commitment to both make sure you get everything how you like it and genuine care that you really enjoyed it. I breakfast here, lunch here and sometimes work from here. Great for any time of day or occasion. Allergies (I'm GF and DF) totally catered for, Gluten Free
I came across the deli when I had time for a coffee ahead of running a workshop nearby.... what a find! Not only is this a really lovely friendly place, they also have dairy-free milk and gluten-free bread - perfect for me. My coffee order was remembered when i returned there later for another! The
Very friendly and professional staff. The food is absolutely amazing, all of the ingredients are fresh and portions are good. Everything is priced well, clean environment and if you’re in the area it’s definitely worth the visit!
Absolutely stunning Caeser chicken sandwich yesterday, filled me right up!
First time visiting smokehouse deli and i was impressed! The menu has all the expected offerings for breakfast, from English breakfasts, the range of eggs benedictum type dishes , granola and pancakes. I had the 4 item English breakfast at 9am which came to £5.50 and it was enough to fill me up unti
Surprisingly London style place in St. Albans. Seating area outside was nice and staff made it easy for my disabled uncle to be served by offering extra table service. Sandwiches were very large and good value.
Visited with little ones for coffee and ice cream, back for brunch and after sampling fantastic food, asked Gels to cater my birthday party at very short notice. The food was incredible, everyone commented and everyone ate it, lots of it! Boxes were fab addition as you can pile way more jerk chicke
Had the greek sandwiy with halloumi & added chicken, & I thought it was fab! The brown bread appeared homemade (not the cheap rubbish kind in a bag) & the ratio of the sandwich was perfect. Reminded me a good ol' American sandwich (I've found the ones here tend to be tiny, bread isn't toasted, not e
With out doubt, the best jerk chicken sandwich that I've had full stop outside of the southern states of the USA. Really good service and great coffee to go with it. It's hidden away in the Camp area of St.Albans, Hertfordshire. Well worth a visit or two if you can find them.
Popped in for lunch today. We had scrambled egg on doorstep toast, bacon baguette and THE VERY BEST eggs florentine (with added black pudding). The eggs florentine was even better than usual and I didn’t think that was possible! Three clean plates, three happy customers.
The most amazing salad I’ve eaten in years! Avocado/hummus/sweet chilli. My partner had beef and Stilton sandwich which came with avocado, caramelised onions, tomatoes and rocket - he confirms it was the best ever! We will certainly be back.
