We went in after reading the TP review and it was amazing, the men who run it were lovely, the food was amazing. It’s definitely a hidden gem. Next time I am that way I will definitely be going back.
Good beer, pleasant landlord, nice. Shame it's so quiet on a Saturday. I hope that they keep going.
Fabulous place and well worth seeking out. A lovely pub, welcoming hospitality, great service, amazing food (that lamb wow, that chef can cook!!) which is all genuinely home made, great selection of drinks. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.
It's under new ownership, but the new owners seem to be trying to keep things much as they were. The menu is similar but smaller, and the famous pies are still on the menu. We four all had something different, and all were good. More people seem to be going in for a drink than under the previous owners, so there's a bit more of a buzz. Don't be put off by the blackboard outside inviting you in for drinks and snacks. They do full meals.
Amazing food, would highly recommend lamb at the Lamb Inn, cooked to perfection pink and generous portion! Also a steak and kidney pie to die for. Great staff, very friendly. Need to go back.
Extinct, at risk, vulnerable? After a lot of searching I find a country pub - that is not part of a chain managed by very nice, well-intentioned people but instead a real country pub. Full of life, homemade food, very tidy and hygienic and perfectly conforming to all the Covid regulations without making it feel uncomfortable... spot on. The menu is varied and it is hard to choose. I was jealous of the crackling on the pork belly until my Venison and Stilton pie arrived. Absolutely delicious but you’ll have a hard time choosing - the other guests were happy with their choices - Such a great selection- you know you want to come back if not to have room for the Sticky Toffee Pudding - Excellent cask ales and bitter and a nice selection of wine... beautiful backyard but mostly you feel that you have found something that you thought might have been lost... like a warm fire? Village pub - people are welcomed by name ??!!? A really nice pause ... a feeling of the ideal regained? The truth - I regret writing this as this hidden gem doesn’t need my review and I fear I may never be able to get in if the word gets out... so local it’s under the radar - faith restored...
Lovely, genuine country pub. Really friendly staff, and the food is truly excellent. Good local produce, cooked by people who know what they are doing. Very much recommended.
Had a wonderful Sunday lunch today. 4 adults and 1 child. Piping hot food. Delicious grub.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of drinks. Lots of amazing desserts. Can't wait to go back
Had an excellent meal for 10 people on February 21st 2018. Highly recommended . Been going here for the last 3 years and will definitely be going again. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and the chef is exceptional. Thank you all for making my daughters 30th birthday a night to remember.
Had a nice couple of pints here this evening. Nice atmosphere. Coming back to try the food soon !
Always great food especially my favourite...fillet steak with the works and cooked just how I like it. And the Otter beer is just a perfect accompaniment. Paul and Jackie ensure their customers are 100% satisfied with their food....and beer! The house speciality pies are very tasty..made by Paul and Jackie. You need big appetites at The Lamb!!! CHEERS!
Booked a thanks for 4 having heard good reviews from friends. Warm friendly welcome, good service, great food and selection of drinks. Definitely will visit again. The Venison and Stilton pie is a must.
What can I say, awesome steak and mushroom pie, piping hot, made the misyake of having a starter, (so full) garlic mushrooms which were delicious. Make sure to book especially for Sunday lunch (which is also lovely) best Yorkshires ever and dogs allowed inside what more could you want.
Quiet country pub, beams and log fires, with good food. A little hard to find, unless you're a local! Food is traditional pub fare with quite an extensive menu and priced well. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Amazing. Service was excellent and food was proper homemade good food.
They dont have a set menu as they use what is available fresh and local but I can say their pies are to die for.
Will be back again soon.
The food was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly. I could not fault it in any way I am just sorry that I had no cash on me to leave a tip. This is the problem with this awful virus situation never use cash these days. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good foid
This is a proper country pub with great beer and fantastic pub food. The pies are superb and the steak and other meat is of the highest quality. Great atmosphere as well, what else could you want in a pub.
