First time visit, landlord and landlady couldn't have been more welcoming, do not be put off by the slightly scruffy exterior it is so worth a visit. Always a fantastic welcome at the Duke of York. The food once again was amazing. Visited with a vegetarian friend and joined her with the vegetarian menu for a change. Spinach and Ricotta Canelloni was beautiful served with home made chips, garlic herby bread and a side salad too. Highly recommend

Excellent food and plenty of it, just go in hungry, you won't be disappointed, staff welcoming even our dog was made a fuss of and fed, she loves the open fire. Real ale is very more-some
Fantastic food and good service. Would be a beautiful old original pub if someone hadn't been having a laugh with the decor it is terrifying, unless you find oversized poppies restful.

Go here, 16oz steak 13 pounds plus change, came on 5 plates meat, chips, salad mushrooms, coleslaw, peas, sorry 6 plates, go to this pub, eat drink be made very welcome, thank you from a trucker far from home, ps, don't ask how big the desserts are.
