Loved the amount of books but would have liked to have seen a few more sewing books as that is what I went in for. Staff were friendly. Coffee shop let the whole experience down. But would certainly come back to purchase any books I need.

Excellent independent bookshop, gift shop and cafe, not huge but a great selection of fiction, literature, crime, sci-fi and fantasy titles. Well worth a visit.

Lovely bookshop also selling beautiful gifts, and with a delightful area for children's books too. The cafe looked nice but we didn't eat there on this occasion.

The friendliest staff you could ever wish to meet. Everyone is so helpful, nothing is to much trouble. This is a fine example of how to contribute to the community.

Love 'Bookmark' a traditional bookshop with a difference. Wonderful selection of cards to buy a range of toys, jigsaws for younger children. A lovely selection of childrens books for all ages and many individual books covering factual information Oceans, Human body, Atlas, Wild animals etc. A range of adult books too. The joy a lovely tea shop selling teas coffees cakes and light lunches. Sadly a group of people who were very loud and commanding in behaviour held court and the usually busy tea shop was empty all but for them. I left too.

Aladdin's cave! Beautiful books, cards, plus lots of hidden gems! A wonderland for Christmas presents! Fabulous roomy cafe - best cup of tea I've had anywhere - ever! Delicious food and great choice!

We wandered in , my partner reminiscing about her father going in there , we wandered round and stayed for a lunch of full breakfast . Very nice . Make sure the lady who serves you makes a note of preferences as when they're busy it can be a bit of one thing too many . No problems . We enjoyed the room and the decorations . Some time later , I'm afraid that the last time we used this place they lived down to expectations , my partner's food was over cooked and when we brought it to a member of staffs attention we were told ' no one's complained before ' and ' we're not replacing it , you'll have to buy another one ' safe to say I've informed all of my circle who use this place or shop in the area . Another one thinks it's above reproach , hello my name's reproach .

Bookmark is a beautiful place. It's got books and a few toys but also a lovely cafe/restaurant at the back. Coffee and cake was very good too. Also good baby changing facilities which is now important for us. And I could get the pram around the shop well.

A great place to meet friends for coffee and cake or lunch. Very impressed with staff who sorted out a gluten free toastie allowing me to have the same as everyone else. Good knowledge of precautions necessary for Coeliac dining to avoid cross contamination. Recommend a visit.

Cafe was lovely, service excellent, they even provided a jug of hot water so we could warm the baby's bottle. Food very good too.

We like to visit the coffee shop. It feels very comfortable with lots of space between tables. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. My only complaint is the fruit cake is very expensive for the portion size, chocolate cake/coffee & walnut are good value though.

It may be an overused phrase, but this really is a hidden gem. The unassuming entrance hides the huge interior, in fact I'd walked by without entering for a couple of years before realising what an expansive and cool place this is. The cafe is spacious, with great home cooked food, looking out on historic buildings. There is a large selection of books, keeping up with the latest releases, and for all ages. It looks like the cafe will soon be refurbished - looking forward to seeing what they decide to do. Keep up the great work!
