The Crown & Anchor - Sowerby - Photo album

Excellent meal and service in a traditional old pub. Very dog friendly offering treats etc
We called in on Friday night after setting up at a local campsite. The pub was extremely busy (which was lovely to see). The food was delicious & everything we had hoped for, service was good given their waitress had rung in sick. Would definitely return again if we were in the area.
As it was the last night of our holiday my daughter and I decided to have a meal out. The Crown and Anchor is a lovely cozy country pub. The staff were friendly and the service was great. The steak and ale pie was the best I've had, my daughter had chicken kebab with rice and salad which she said wa
Lovely people, nice atmosphere and nice food. Well presented food, good specials board. Open fire and good decor. Only X2 real ales on when we went, but looks like there are probably 5 on when busier. Garden to rear of pub looks good for summer and parking at the rear also. I'll be going again
Really enjoyed our meal tonight. Marvellous service. Great menu. Fantastic food.
The food was very good for a lunch time experience as never been here before. Very good.
Lovely pub, great outside areas front and back, and a good selection of decent beers. Only let down by the miserable barman.
Not wanting to blow a small fortune on mediocre food from the motorway services I had a search for local pubs and came across the Crown & Anchor and I’m glad I did. Wonderful food at a fraction of the price to the above alternative and a cosy pub with real ale on tap. What’s not to like!
Mandy & I have enjoyed several meals at the Crown & Anchor and we rate it highly. Large parking area at rear and lots of outdoor seating for a warm, sunny day. We love dining here on Sunday’s as the roast options are terrific. Food is freshly cooked and well presented (and the veg options are del
Great food. Cheltenham atmosphere. Will be back.
As always. Warm welcome. Great service and delicious food
It is not always easy to ho know a pub alone to eat but I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Yje staff were very friendly and th food was good.
Very friendly customers and staff with good real ale on tap
Took a friend here for her first time out after hospital. Food was great landlord was very helpful. As we sat outside, couldn't comment about the atmosphere.
Lovely pub with great atmosphere.Landlord welcoming and even remembered our drinks order when we returned the next day. We visited twice whilst staying in Thirsk and had lunch which was excellent. Would definitely recommend a visit 👌.
So friendly and welcome. Weather was red hot lovely beer garden. We weren’t from local area but staff were lovely. We will be back if ever in area again.
Wife and i went tonight for meal, there was a good selection of food on the menu, plus a specials board. When served, food was delicious and well presented, service was good... this coupled with a good range of ales, made for a great evening out.
Nice lace for Sunday dinner even though I had mussels. Beef pie and Yorkshire pudding looked amazing
