We had lunch there today and the food was excellent and not too badly priced for the location. Very helpfull waiting staff sorted us out with a table outside in the sun. Will definately eat there again if in Southwold.
We were a corporate group being hosted by Adnams, we were looked after extremely well and the team could not have done enough for us, the food was excellent and the drinks quality top notch. I would recommend to friends and will return next time I'm in Suffolk.
Lovely food, good service and the best G&T I've ever had ... both Adnams of course.
1st visit to the Crown and we weren't disappointed, walked in and asked for a table (not knowing that it's best to book). We had a lovely meal, my husband had the fish & chips and I had the burger, both were lovely and the staff were friendly and made sure everything was OK.

We have just returned from a wonderful night's stay at The Crown. The room was lovely and spacious, the staff helpful and very friendly and the food absolutely delicious! We had a good stroll along the seafront to clear the festive cobwebs and enjoyed a drink in the back bar before dinner. The only downside was that we were unable to stay longer - but we hope to be back soon and in the meantime would heartily recommend The Crown to anyone wishing to stay in Southwold.

An excellent two days at the Crown Southwold timed perfectly with the September heatwave. A two night September deal of superior room, breakfast and a £35 per head dinner allowance for £169 per night was good value.
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Crown with one evening meal. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome, the room was a delight and the food was just great - every member of staff always greeted us with beaming smiles and good wishes for the day which was lovely. As front of house Stella is the consummate professional and looked after our every need, thank you so much. The Crown (as most of the licensed premises in Southwold) is owned by Adnams who clearly take the time and trouble to invest in their staff - this has indeed paid rich dividends from our experience at The Crown as that is what made our stay special and memorable!
Took my mum here for 3 courses on Mother’s Day. The roast was excellent and the service was great. They even gave my mum some flowers at the end of the meal, which was a really nice touch
Pleasant and comfortable surroundings. Friendly and competent staff. It feels as if you could turn up in wellies or tuxedo and feel comfortable (we had pre booked to ensure a table). Nice selection of food and drinks , children's menu, light selection and a la carte. Good experience. Would happily return. Adults expect to pay around £10 for a starter, £23 for a main and £10 for dessert.

What a wonderful experience..made us feel so welcome..food was fantastic.

Lovely comfortable pub with a nice little back bar, great restaurant and wonderful people. The room was ok, but the staff really set this place ahead. I look forward to working in the area again, just to stay here.

Had 7 nights in Southwold and went to The Crown for an evening meal 3 times. Food and atmosphere were excellent. My wife loved the Plum & Orange Meringue with Stem Ginger Ice-cream. But the star of the show was Siobhan who made us feel welcome, had time for us and nothing was too much trouble. Had a constant smile on her face and in her voice.
Wonderful staff. Really helpful in a difficult situation. A family member fell ill and we had to get an ambulance. They went above and beyond to be supportive and kind. I returned late from the hospital when all food establishments were closed and they found me delicious cold snacks to see me through. The beds were comfortable and even before the incident nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We would definitely come back.
Very nice evening meal. Fillet of sea bass portion a bit small, but haddock and prawn burger ample - both delicious. Nice puddings although coffee was a bit tepid. Expensive at £90 inc gratuity when only two mains, two puds, a coffee and two alcoholic drinks. Nice service, very clean and easy parking.
We liked both rooms. The larger one in particular was amazing. Service was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast.

We popped in for a evening drink and sat out the back where the bar is located. Staff were polite.

The bar area has a cosy feel because it's quite small which was good. Definitely worth a visit.
Room was small and stuffy (cheapest room available) but everything worked perfectly, particularly the blasting shower. Excellent back bar, unchanged for decades. Fine breakfast, supper good but expensive. All staff a delight and 100% professional.

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Crown. The only negative was the room was very hot and even after turning the radiators down there wasn't a chance of sleeping much as the duvet was very hot too! It depends what you like I suppose and my husband and I prefer a cooler bed.
The staff were all very pleasant and couldn't fault the service.
A lovely location right on the High Street and a short stroll to the seafront. Great choice!
Very nice a bit quirky in room layout not really suitable if you have a problem with stairs but enjoyed stay
Really enjoyed our Sunday Lunch here today. The roast lamb and roast beef were so tender and there was a great selection of vegetables. The Adnams bitter was also very well kept. Very cosy dining room with comfortable chairs and no crowding at all with the tables. Staff were friendly and very efficient.
A bonus for those not keen on our canine friends is that dogs are not allowed in the hotel.
