This a genuinely unique place to go for fish and chips. There is an outside seating area overlooking the harbour and fishing boats. The service is good, the staff were really friendly and attentive. The haddock was beautiful although the batter was a bit on the soggy/greasy side. Slightly disappointed at having to pay £1 each for cheap ketchup; expected for Stokes or Heinz, but not cheap watery ketchup. We will however definitely be going back again - what a lovely spot.

Really lovely traditional chippy. Friendly staff and the most succulent fish I've ever had. Worth the 4hr drive to experience this gem.

This was my best part of my trip to Southwold. £6 for two pints of fresh peel on prawns. Add a beer and could have sat there all day shelling prawns. Next time 4 pints at that price. I can’t complain at that. Vibrant and friendly I will be returning and very soon. Bring your own lemon wipes 😃

Such a shame it burnt down.... It doesn't do any hot fish at all just so people are aware and not disappointed when they turn up. Be great when it does re open though....missing the menu a lot. The fresh caught fish is great but don't go there expecting a hot meal like we did . Looking forward to the re opening.

Enjoyed an absolutely fantastic lunch at Sole Bay Fish Co. Oysters and chargrilled crevettes to start with then we built our own platter for main course. Absolutely delicious, fresh fish and seafood and finished off with pretty much the nicest coffee I've ever had. The area we sat in was really nice, like a little wooden conservatory. Staff were friendly and welcoming and helped to give us a lovely experience, acknowledging our wedding anniversary, which was unexpected and really kind. Definitely one of my favourite seafood places. Difficult to believe the 1 star reviews posted as so many of them are promoting the Fish and Chip shop next door... smacks of a bit of sabotage! Anyway fortunately most reviews are spot on, deserved 5 stars. Thank you for a lovely experience.

An amazing little fish and chip shop serving some amazing food with a brilliant atmosphere. Sole Bay Fish Company has some amazing tasting fish and chips, all presented really nicely in their own unique packaging which I think makes all the difference. The chips are very nice being lovely and fluffy on the inside with that golden brown texture on the outside. The battered cod is also really tasty which breaks apart easily and is nice and white. Their is plenty to choose from on their menu and the prices are more than reasonable. The restaurant as a whole is decorated beautifully with a modern and rustic look to appeal to all generations and ages. I especially love the little outside courtyard where you can wait for your food to be prepared for takeaway. They also give you these amazing hand held buzzers which buzz when you’re food is ready. This is a great addition to an already perfect business, but just makes the process easier when ordering and collecting your food. If you’re in Southwold, I highly recommend this fish and chip shop over others.

My mum and I had fish and chips, you could sit inside but we chose to sit out side in the fresh air. So many options to choose from on the menu including a wide variety of drinks. Staff member I spoke to was pleasant. Highly recommended, food was absolutely amazing 10/10

BEST FISH & CHIPS in Southwold? We had the fish and chips (cod) and Fish tacos, both very good choices. The fish tacos were massive, fresh fish and super crunchy batter. The guac was also fresh and tasty! The cod and chips was HUGE, batter was crispy, light and super brown. The dressed crab has got to be one of the highlights of Sole Bay and you can here everyone talking about it when they come out. Honestly think Sole Bay is the best fish and chips in town. 100% must do when in Southwold, don’t forget to pick-up some fresh catches before going in the crabs are particularly good too.

Fantastic Seafood. Informal setting with friendly staff. Be aware children’s push chairs aren’t permitted which could have created an issue had we not been able to move to a booth and use the car seat for our 3 month old to sleep in whilst we ate. Recommend the Lobster and Chips (of course)! We’ll be back.

This is the best fish and chips in the world! Loving to travel and loving to eat fish and chips, I must say I've struggled to find anything better! We love their second business 'the little fish and chips shop' but this place with its expanded menu including the must try battered oysters is simply superb! Our go to takeaway is plaice and chips with a few oysters to start, sitting on their tables out front with a local ghost ship beer. One of my happiest places in the world.
