Three of us had a lovely meal here sat out in one of their Eco pods, which has an electric heater overhead to keep you warm. Service was really good: attentive, well paced and friendly. They were hosting a retirement party which started while we were there and inside the pub was full! Even this didn’t affect the service we received! The car park was virtually empty when we arrived at 12:30 on a half term weekday, but was overflowing when we left, due to the party. There is some additional parking out in the streets though. The menu was lovely and varied, and all three courses were delicious. I’d highly recommend this pub for a meal.

We visited twice in the same week, lovely country pub with great amount of seating areas inside and put for all weather, lovely family area for kids with play park and food was amazing! Good selection of ales. Will definitely be back

*** Update *** We went for a meal on Saturday night. Can't rate the food here highly enough. The portions were large, very tasty and came out piping hot. Prices were very reasonable and as with our previous visit the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great friendly pub in the middle of Southwick village not far from Portsmouth. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Prices were very reasonable. We didn't have food but the meals that were coming out looked good. Will be back again soon.

What a find! Lovely welcome from all the staff. Food was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Even me asking for an affagato after a sublime rigatoni. Will go out of my way to return here.

Catering for the northern end of the village with a large beer garden and car park to the rear, this pub could easily be missed as it sits square on the High Street. Originally a coaching Inn dating from 1726, it still holds sway over the community. Welcoming to humans and their dogs alike, this is an essential part of village life.

A visit to the Red Lion for yet another birthday meal. Haven’t been here for a while, but not disappointed. It’s pie week, so opted for a steak and Guinness pie. Struggled to fit in a pudding after a large portion, but our server Cheryl served up a smaller dish with a candle . Excellent food and top class service. Thank you.

A fantastic pub, good ales, excellent service, and the food was of a very good quality, Entrance to the carpark is a bit tight, well it was for us in our motorhome, buy plenty of parking, and we were allowed to stay the night in our motorhome 👍, huge beer garden, and we particularly like the outdoor pod's, We can highly recommend this lovely pub

A lovely cosy pub, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Been here a few times now. One of my favourites. Came here for my birthday today with a friend. I had a gluten free meal (as photo) as I have coeliac disease. Delicious! My friend had the fish and chips, good portion size and she loved her meal. The only thing I will say is that when I asked for blackcurrant sorbet, I was unaware they would put a wafer biscuit on top (no idea if this was gluten free so I thankfully didn't eat it!) That is something they should be careful of.
