Good quality cafe style food .....jacket potatoes, sandwiches with chips, all day breakfasts .. now open some evenings for more than cafe food ? This is located on one of Brightons best kept secret beaches you can have a nice lunch an ice cream and a beer all on a secluded beach 10 minties from central Brighton.... schhh don't tell anyone πŸ˜‰

Tell you what, I can never fault carats, young staff that are really professional, food that's lovely, great beach environment... Family and dog friendly... It's a pity the smell from the water treatment plant.

This is a great place; whatever the season. The food is many and varied, the service is excellent and consistent, friendly and prompt. Good value for money across the menu which starts at breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon deserts. It is right on beach so excellent for a sunny summer visit to Southwick Beach or perhaps to see the other side of weather in winter at high tide - as we did (again). Plenty of space inside and the 'outside' enclosed conservatory area gives you a taste of the weather without putting you actually in its fury. Plenty of parking close by but this is Adur so you have to pay but it is not too much. You could park in Southwick and walk across the locks to the cafe - but perhaps only when the weather is good.

Was taken for the first time today. A lovely hidden little gem. A large booking was in but the staff handle it very well and once we had ordered the food it didn't take long to arrive. The food was very good and very well priced.

Lovely lil place, staff really fun and friendly. A wide selection of grub and drinks, and vegetarian dishes are available, too. Impressed by how quickly the vacated tables were cleared and cleaned properly. Will go back again and highly recommended. I can normally finish my fry-ups, but I was stuffed, so I decided to show how content I was via my left over food. ( In case you can't see it, it's a smiling face! 😊 ) πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

First visit. Just had simple egg, 2x bacon, 2x sausages. It was amazing. Really good quality food, and all cooked perfectly, sausages really good size too, bacon crispy but not overdone. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Called in for breakfast on a coastal hike. Food was very nicely cooked, bacon and egg not too greasy and the black pudding was lovely. The menu looks to have a very good choice so something for everyone. Sitting at the front of the cafe watching the birds drinking from the water bowls that are placed outside for dogs to drink from. Very nice for a short stop.

I've been coming here since I was a little girl, it's always clean and staff always efficient and friendly. First time I used the table service by scanning the QR code and it was was easy and quick service, the lad who served me also grabbed my cutlery and condiments for me as I had the dog with me who would have lost his mind if I'd left him outside while I went to get them! Really helpful considering they were busy! I paid Β£10.40 for cup of tea, scrambled egg on toast and 2 extra Sausages (for the dog) which is a little high in comparison to local cafes around town, knowing If I bought the children with me, I'd be looking at Β£30/Β£40 for breakfast makes me squirm lol but I'd go back so?....plenty of seating indoors and outside and what more could you want having breakfast in the sun listening to the crashing waves! Bliss!! There are public toilets between the cafe and carpark, parking is really reasonable and takes cash or card! It's a pebble beach but always clean and really good for dog walks or spending a few hours with family!

Lovely atmosphere, good staff and good food. Need to arrive earlier in the day for sausage rolls though. Plenty of seating by the beach. They open long hours, so they are always willing to find you a seat, even for a snack

Nice place to walk to, along mostly empty beaches, if you don't mind the industrial surroundings. Nice food, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Good basic cafe style range on the menu

Good food at good prices, served by friendly staff. Add the location even in bad weather, especially in bad weather and its a full set.

Nice cafΓ©, friendly staff and good service. I had a bacon & cheese burger, which was freshly cooked and superb. The chips were sadly lacking, hence the 4 stars. But overall, a nice place, and good vfm.

Very lovely cafe, quite modern inside, great views just outside with the sea right on the doorstep. A beautiful walk along the sea front. Although they didn't seem to have everything on the menu, they did give us replacements and served us super quickly. The food was very tastey, the milkshake was really thick and yummy and the sandwiches we had came with thick chips. All together a very pleasant experience.

Really lovely place to visit on a bike ride. First time I have been for a while and the conservatory is fab. The cakes and fresh baked goods looked gorgeous and the lady behind the counter was kind and smiley. Not unreasonably expensive either. Definitely not going to leave it long between visits

Promp polite service and food arrived quickly. Decent portions too and under 'Brighton' prices. A long way down but worth the walk/drive. Shingle beaches also quieter.

Fish beautiful piece of fish, perfectly cooked, crispy batter that just melts in the mouth Chips all i can say is THE BEST i have ever had, crispy crunchy outside, fluffy inside

Food was fab....well played and the right portion. I had the sea bass with salad... it was pan fried, and the skin was perfectly crispy! My husband had the striploin, which he really liked as well.... It's such a great location too..... perfect for a lazy day at the beach, with the carat cafe right beside
