We popped in randomly one night for a drink, then after seeing the Christmas menu we booked straight in! Certainly not disappointed on Christmas day! The blackened duck was to die for, yummy! Needless to say we have been back a couple of times since and always receive the high quality and friendly service! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Have just been down to The Schooner for a meal. Two steaks with chips, tomato, onion rings and a sauce of your choice - the steaks were cooked to perfection, all for the grand sum of £20. So then we have to have pudding - I had banoffee eton mess which was lush, and OH had lemon posset which apparently was equally enjoyable. We will be back.

Me and my sister took our Dad here for fathers day, since changing hands it has really improved! Good service, polite and chatty, with a good selection of beers and even better food, I would highly recommend the Schooner as a good place to go, and by far the best food in Southwick!

Very up-tone waitress and good simple food in a warm atmosphere, surrounded by an unexpected view on the harbour on sunset time!

The views across the harbour here are exceptional. Bar staff were really friendly, beer choice was average (punk IPA was the only craft beer on). I didn't try the food but my friend tells me it's good here. I will certainly be making another visit soon.

Fabulous food, friendly and efficient staff. Great for drinks also. Super views across the marina. All in all an absolutely brilliant place to spend with family and friends. Good value for money, with different promotions on a few nights a week, including 2-4-1 burgers, also a quiz (Wednesday's) Pie night and there's also a steak night, as well as full menu, with a selection of various dishes. Parking available also.

Lovely pub and has a great view over the harbour. The young lady who was on her own was fantastic, great service!!! My mother and I ordered the fish and chips, BOGOF. The chips were great, the batter on the fish was light and crispy on the top but it little soggy on the bottom, which was a shame. It came with homemade tartar sauce and minted mushy peas, both very taste. We would definitely go back.

Got a leaflet saying they do Meatless Monday - deal that would give you 2 for 1 in vegetarian main dishes. Went there on Monday and bartender didn't hear about such a deal... We decided to stay and eat anyways, as always wanted to try their food. The food was incredible! Will definitely recommend your kitchen to others. Just please make the Meatless Monday happen as you promised in your new leaflet!

We ordered a snack, the calamari was really good. The service was great and I did enjoy looking out onto the boats. The Schooner had the aire of a traditional family bar restaurant, I was impressed with the real oak floor, just like an old wooden sailing ship!

Great pub with a lovely atmosphere and food. For a Sunday lunch you'll have to pay around £10 for a main dish, and don't be afraid to try the pigeon - it is absolutely scrumptious! The view of the river Adur takes it to a higher level. Really worth every penny and the staff is nice too! An overall great pub with great food!

Excellent family-friendly pub overlooking the marina. Great food, good selection of ales (craft and traditional), and a really mellow ambience. The music is always good and never too much, plus the owners and staff are lovely. Easily the best pub around here.

Service 3/5 Food 4/5 Price 4/5 Location 5/5 4 Stars is generous. You won't be disappointed however. There is ample parking, a large bar area and an extra downstairs seating area both complete with panoramic windows with views over the harbour. If you're looking to eat on a weekend afternoon, I recommend calling ahead and booking a table, same day is usually fine. Great selection of drinks, they have a handful of craft beers, ales, bitters and ciders to keep everyone happy. We came here for a roast on a sunday however I have eaten here on another occasion, both times the food was good, I would expect better for the price however. Service is good depending on who's serving you, some of their staff is less than helpful but otherwise good. I would definitely visit again.

This establishment is across the road from home. The restaurant will be opening again soon and from my previous experience the food will be worth every penny. Marvellous! The staff and management are friendly and most helpful. I have recommended The Schooner to friends and family. Do try it when the refurbishment is completed.
