This is one of my favourite places to come when it’s warm and the sun is shining?
It was busy but service was good.
We had baguettes which came with a salad and a choice of fries or hand cut chips.
I was pleasantly surprised at the price £8.50 as the baguette was large and the chips were a generous
This is such a lovely pub, especially when the sun is out. You get the beauty of eating or drinking next to the river and seeing all the boats go past. It is always busy when the sun is out and they should definitely make the outdoor seating area a bit bigger. Food is always lovely and enjoyable how
Took my husband for lunch a few days after it started serving food again. Was the nicest ham, egg & chips we've ever had. My husband loved his crumble and custard. Excellent value, good service, will definitely being going back again soon
Went here with family to eat and have a few beers. Lovely pub on the river.
The food was good. The only complaint I have is my nephew and I had the camembert to share. But I had to ask for extra bread to dip into the camembert, as we only had a very small chunk of bread each.

Wow, best pub food I've ever had. The main course was the lamb roast. Even the mash had such a gorgeous taste.
We shared our 2 desserts to get the best experience. All this yummy food whilst watching the river flow by.

We had a great lunch by the river here today. Service was polite, helpful and covid friendly. Beautifully set on the river so you can walk some of your food off after. The food was perfect we both enjoyed their twice fried chips with our meals and the gravy deserves a mention.
We finally got to do our Wedding Reception here in October 21, even though we have already been married for 15 months!!! We had the Captains Cabin function room! We stopped off for a midwalk drink and sat in the beer garden. It happens to be on the side of the canal so very pretty.
I will say that the staff were absolutely lovely, polite and helpful. For the time we sat there they worked hard to keep the tables clear and delivered the orders.
The food looked
Quaint pub on the banks of Trent river. Went for a works Christmas meal. Food was delicious and the staff were attentive without being intrusive.
The Christmas decorations gave the pub a really lovely feel.
I'd definitely visit again, as the prices were very reasonable.
Been many times and food is good quality.
Tables outside so you can bring a dog, Just not inside in restaurant section.
Can be very busy on days with good weather, bank holidays etc. due to walkers stopping by. Longer waits on these days.
Had a lovely meal. We arrived at 4.30pm wasnt very busy. Table had a great view of the river. Cosy and plush interior, which was very welcoming. They do a lunchtime special that starts from 12pm - 6pm. We went for 2 courses at £12.99. Service was great and the staff were really friendly and polite.
Visited on a Sunday with my friend and both had the medium Roast Beef Dinner, which was lovely, leaving enough room for the Crumble & Custard, which tasted just as good!
Good service from friendly staff in a clean setting and right beside the River Trent all at a reasonable price!
What's not to love
Delicious food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and the girls serving were lovely but didn't appear very happy.
Would highly recommend though as great food and great value for money.
