We used to eat here years ago and thought we would give it a go again, hearing it was under new management I was worried it wouldn’t be as good, to our surprise it was even better, 3 X full English with perfectly poached eggs, all meet well done as requested, excellent presentation on the plate, the biggest pot of tea I’ve ever seen included in the price of the meal, fantastically comfy chairs and amazing view and best of all the most wonderfully friendly staff, I even popped my head through the serving hatch to thank the chef who was a lovely smiley lady, definitely worth a visit this is our new Thursday breakfast eatery, also there cake selection was amazing especially the scones, visit don’t think about it just go
Came here for afternoon tea on Sunday for my sisters hen party as we were after somewhere nice and vintage looking.
The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh. The tables are set out lovely too.
All the staff there were fantastic and went above and beyond to make it special for my sister. We will be visiting again soon ❤️
Lovely olde worlde spacious tea rooms which is far removed from the numerous greasy cafes along Lord street in Southport. This made a wonderful change to escape back to the way things used to be with waitresses dressed to be the part and providing a service with a smile.
The food was very nice but had the usual British side salad of a couple of lettuce leaves and a tomato, but it was reasonably priced. The only problem was it is upstairs so perhaps not easily accessed by the people who would appreciate it the most.
Booked afternoon tea at Nostalgia tea rooms. Very enjoyable indeed. Tasty sandwiches, lasagne, chips salad, scones with butter, jam and cream, Swiss roll, almond type of cake, chocolate cake with strawberry dipped in chocolate and Eton mess. I finished mine but hubby couldn't eat it all. Had a lovely pot of tea and a nice window view. Staff were very pleasant. We would definitely recommend.

We found this little gem about a month ago and what a gem it is, staff lovely food exceptional and just love the decor and the seasons tree, we visit on a regular basis and have introduced our friends who also love the place, keep up the good work 😊👍
Had a fantastic brunch at the Nostalgia Tea rooms and sad to to see the notice the owners will be retiring at the end of April and wish them all best of luck and for new owners. The service was excellent and a great cooked breakfast and afternoon tea had by all! Loved the decor and downtown abbey style clothes the waitresses wore. Wonderful experience.
We always go to the nostalgia tea rooms when we are in Southport town centre because they do excellent meals which are always nice and hot, they also have a gluten free menu which is great for me as I am coeliac and can not have wheat or gluten, the service is excellent and it doesn't take a lot of time to be served and then receive your meal so if you are looking far a place to have a meal then this is the place for you. The only downside is that the restaurant is up a long flight of stairs so it will be a problem for people in wheelchair.

We stumbled upon this place whilst looking for somewhere for a snack.
Polite, welcoming, and attentitive staff dressed in period costume, period decor, and period music all contributed to the retro theme and ambience.
A proper pot of tea with a separate jug of hot water was so refreshing.
We only had a snack, but it was very enjoyable non the less and nicely presented.
I would have given 5 stars, but I have to down mark for the annoying practice of "extras" being added to the bill. They have a strange policy of presenting non-VAT inclusive pricing.
This means that your expected bill is suddenly increased by 20%.
VAT should be inclusive in displayed pricing. A very bad business strategy as it alienates unsuspecting customers who feel conned and irritating to those who are aware of it.
It is certainly a place that we would have no hesitation in visiting again and would recommend to others, allbeit with the VAT caveat.
Didn't realise places like this still exist. Lovely room, wonderful food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. An absolute pleasure during a short visit to the coast. If we pass this way again the Nostalgia will be our first stop.
Thankyou so much Nostalgia Tea Rooms here in Southport for a fantastic afternoon tea. This I have to say was one of the best or the best afternoon teas I've ever had . Just incredibly good 😀 🎂🍡🍦🍧 the afternoon tea for 2 was lovely. But I must say the 5 star customer service from all the staff it was unbelievably good , they are a credit to Nostalgia tea rooms thankyou.
