Always had a good meal here. The Haque family are fantastic, making all guests feeling welcome, great food and excellent service. They spend more money on good chicken (double the price of normal chicken) and you can taste the difference! A really good curry house, I wih we had shares in the place as we have been going regularly since 2000!

I've always thought Kasturi sounds more like a Japanese martial art than an Indian restaurant. As it is, kasturi apparently means 'musk' in Nepali, although when I think of musky smells they're not particularly positive. Thankfully, when I think of Kasturi the restaurant my memories are a lot more positive. This well-sized restaurant on Southport's Eastbank Street is one of the few places in the area that specialises in Indian cuisine whilst offering a cosy and comfortable environment in which customers can enjoy a meal. Their menu has a wide range of dishes, incorporating everyone's tastes whether you prefer your curries spicy and hot or creamy and mild instead. Their menu also features a selection of specialities and chef's recommendations for those of you feeling adventurous or fancy going for something a bit different. They also have a website which features pictures of some of their meals, so if you're one of those people who decides what's nice by what the dish looks like, this is an especially handy feature.

Not one of the names that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were considering for their Scientology-ceremonied daughter, but instead an Indian restaurant in Southport. There aren't many in my experience, and those that exist tend to have more of a takeaway vibe, but this one offers the whole sophisticated experience with authentic flavours and super service. Does it deliver on its promises? It's a family-run business and a very enthusiastic one too. You'll notice some of the prices are far higher than in your average Indian restaurant and that's because they go out of their way to source top notch ingredients - superb meats, massively fresh veggies and the like. I'll be honest, I'm normally very sceptical of these kinds of things but you can actually taste the difference. The service makes you feel rather special and everything's incredibly delicious, plus the restaurant itself is set in a delightful building with very tasteful decor. All boxes ticked... I'll just have to save it for paydays I'm afraid!

Excellent and tasty food. You can taste the freshness, it doesn't taste like it has been sat around for a few days or that really cheap ingredients has been used. I totally love indian so was very pleased to find such a good indian in the hood. The staff are fun and will not leave you feeling forgotten at any point in the evening. Inside the restaurant isn't that modern but is clean. Why is it called Kasturi? Katsturi is persian word for "Musk". It is used as a basis of perfumes and stimulants and is a scented, reddish brown substance secreted in the gland of a male musk deer. Kasturi reminds the owners of the great mughal emperors who smelt its fragrance to the full, whose lives could not be without the splendour of its smell and spicy stimulant food. Even when Enperor Humayyun was living in the jungle being defeated by Sher Shah Shoor, he had Kasturi on him to present it to his newborn son Akbar who was to become the greatest of all Mughals. So what they are trying to do is bring down this great mughal tradition to our doorstep. Woh, they have really thought about this!

We've eaten here a few times now and always really enjoy it. We visited again a few days ago and took our kids (7 and 12) who both loved it. The service was fantastic from all the waiters and they entertained our kids really well. The food was top notch as usual, very fresh and clean tasting and the hot options were nice and spicy (unlike most in Southport)! I would definitely rate this as the best Indian restaurant in town and will be visiting again soon! Many thanks for our son's birthday gift! :-)

Ordered our food on the phone drove down to collect. I was greeted by a tall gentleman and another one behind the bar. He informed me that he is from Nepal. Another mature gentlemen adviced me to take some chocolate mints. By the time I paid, my order was ready. We were planning to eat our takeaway over 2 days but it was extremely delicious and ate it all in one sitting. Not greasy at all. We have had Vegetable Naga as main, Saag Paneer as side, pilau & mushroom rice total was £18.80. It was well worth every penny. I would recommend.

The food was very nice. This is chicken chat and I can’t get the nice flavour I tasted many years ago anywhere. I’m a little disappointed. Lots of chicken chat really didn’t need a main meal after this. My hubby loved it. We would both go again nice clean restaurant. Staff were very friendly.
