We had a wonderful lunch here, the choice on the menu is unbelievable. I had the swinging steak kebab and my husband had pie of the day. Very generous portion sizes too. Including 2 large glasses of wine & 2 glasses of coke, the bill came to less than £40. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last!
Great place for a meal, excellent food! Good staff who are always attentive. Good entertainment Friday and Saturday.
Outstanding food , really good portion glad we paid that little bit extra rather than a Wetherspoon meal ...we will be returning ...was really busy later in the night , so that tells you all you need to know .

Went for lunch with my husband to this cosy lovely restaurant with very large choices of food ,cocktails etc.. you will have from loads to choose and it will be hard because all the food is the menu sounds delicious and I'm sure it's all taste gorgeous because our food was beautiful.
I've had welsh rarebit on door step toast was big and so good 👍.

All the staff where friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough for us.

First time here, booked on line easy process. Lovely friendly welcome on arrival, brilliant service and food, huge portions we couldn’t eat it all. Staff so friendly and great service . A really good Rod Stewart tribute singer on. Would definitely return if in the area have no hesitation in recommending this lovely venue. If your in the area go check it out you will not be disappointed.

Stumbled on this place the other night and wow. how have we not been here before food was amazing. Lovely staff .Great music pity we had the kids or would off stayed later .very well prices and you got to try the shots .can't believe how nice there where .definitely be back ..

Fantastic evening enjoying great food and drink whilst enjoying the Fleetwood Mac tribute, the team were friendly and helpful, haven't been for a few years but it still has that same welcoming and fun atmosphere that remember!
Amazing food and excellent service. Also dog friendly and our little girl was made to feel very welcome. Will definitely return next time we are in Southport.
Our second visit for lunch. The service here is very prompt and the food tasty (we had duck and steak wraps with side-by-side-salad). It's a good atmosphere with unusual and interesting decor. My only gripes would be that it was a little cold and the plate was a bit small!
Food was really nice and so were the staff. The harissa cod was great and the portions are really generous. Lots of nice decor and drinks options too. Loos could do with a deep clean and some TLC, but I'll still be back to try more food.
We came here for my wife's birthday. The waitress Was extremely polite showing us to our seats, Drinks was served within 2 mins of seating, food was served within 15 mins.. The T-bone steak was cooked to perfection, was extremely tasty.. We will definitely be returning, the atmosphere was great & they had a live band on aswell.. Overall, Staff was friendly & efficient, Food was excellent, atmosphere Great...
Nice and relaxed, reasonably priced nice food. Good options, good portion size. Slightly annoying hipster presentation, burger in a billy can, chips in a mini chip basket, salad in a trifle bowl, no napkins but a full kitchen roll dispenser, I personally prefer a plate, but I would happily go back as I enjoyed the food.
Fantastic restaurant. I visited in 2016 and it was great then so upon visiting again at Easter there was no question as to where to go. We all loved it, even two very picky kids and went again the next evening! Staff are all nice, service is great, good choice of food and drinks, there's nothing not to like! Keep it up guys....
Very nice place to eat and chill. Very warm staff. Large variety of drinks and food. The Knights Templar plate is enough to feed 2 people. It was a very pleasant experience. It really worth to step in.
Great night at the hungry monk 👍i went on a night out with friends to see a Meatloaf tribute act ( who was great ) he had the crowd from start to finish ! Food was very good and reasonably priced and the service great staff were very friendly. Will definitely go again 😉
Really great place. Staff were great and very attentive. Food was delicious. We sampled some of the sharing dishes, chicken skewers and dessert. Yummy! Dog friendly. Would definitely go back.
Great food but service always takes a long time even when only a couple of tables are in use and these only 2 of you. Will still go there again though.
Friendly staff who are excellent with my daughter and ensured she was ok each time they came to our table. The food was excellent and you could tell quality was in each dish especially my daughter’s chicken nuggets which you could tell were freshly made. A round of puddings to finish off and then off to enjoy the fireworks. This is a our second visit to the hungry monk and we’ll be back again.
Ordered the steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was friendly and polite. No complaints really happy I found this place would definitely go again.
