What a Great place. Fantastic food and venue. Highly recommended. If you haven't been here put this on you "must visit" list. The food is cooked fresh and of generous portions and the dessert was in my wife's words "to die for"

Visited "Mini's" on Saturday night and was welcomed by the waitress and owner. A pleasant start...
After getting a drink and being seated at a table by the window my friend and I ordered. Shortly after my starter arrived and was a healthy portion for such a little cost, very good value for money!
With the starter demolished, we awaited our main course...it was hard to look past the steak in all honesty. I ordered my Steak "Rare" and my friend "Medium" and they didn't disappoint. Cooked to our liking and accompanied by all the trimmings, onion rings, mushrooms and more there was only one thing left that could put a dampener on things...the peppercorn sauce. It didn't, if I had to nit pick then I would say it was slightly creamy and could have been a bit richer with a hotter pepper taste but I am clutching at straws with that.
Overall the meal was good and the service accompanied the meal well. Two fulfilled and happy customers.
What a truly hidden gem, great food, lovely atmosphere and very nice and friendly hostess would certainly recommend and we will definitely be returning �
Great food and service. Really good value and the wine with the meal is always good. Went there for my birthday party 29 people and everyone said how good it was. Ali made everyone welcome and the table decorations were brilliant. Would always recommend to anyone.

Been here for family meals and for fun night's with friends, I have tried the tapas and the main menu excellent food the chef Tim and the owner Alison make you feel so welcome I recommend you come and try this place.

Only got 5 stars as no option to give it more, great service, great food. Mini as a fantastic host goes through menu with you, 2 courses for 2 inc a bottle of wine £12:95. Can't wait to go back.
Food was lovely, staff very friendly, very clean and good value for money. I was there with friends for a get together and we all had a great time. Would highly recommend a visit.

New owners. Very friendly. Place redecorated and looking very nice. Haven't yet had the opportunity to dine here so my stars represent a neutral opinion, for now. It is an appealing option to dine in this freshly updated restaurant and I plan to do so soon.

Great food, fantastic service. Went for a birthday meal for my little boy, booked only a few hours in advance but they had already put up a banner for him and decorated the table! The manager was so welcoming and it felt really family friendly, the kids loved their meals and our food was delicious. We took along a birthday cake and not only did they put a sparkler in it for us but they served us beautifully decorated slices, they cut the best bits off for the kids and served with cream and chocolate sauce. Above and beyond what was expected, thank you for a lovely evening! 😊
Booked in to Mini's for two tables of five after attending a family funeral. Nothing was too much trouble, the home cooked food was absolutely delicious and everyone enjoyed their choices. The restaurant is spotless and all covid precautions are adhered to, so we felt very comfortable. We have visited Mini's on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed the experience but today Alison and her staff surpassed themselves with their excellent standards and care. Best restaurant in the town, please support it as much as you can during these difficult times as it is a gem. Thanks again Alison and her staff, Gaynor and Steve.

My husband has already submitted a review but I wanted to do my own. Our children booked sunday lunch for family as a wedding anniversary gift.
The decor is simple, fresh, light and airy. Minis is spotless!!!! You can smell the cleanliness as soon as you walk in the door.
Alison, the owner,greeted us. She was warm and friendly whilst being totally professional. A lovely, lovely lady. We all ordered variations of the Sunday roast dinner menu. My daughter had told us the food was good.
My opinion of the food is that it was not GOOD but EXCELLENT!!!!
I am very fussy when eating out and my husband always comments that there is ALWAYS a BUT with my opinion on the food and very, very rarely am I a 10 out of 10 person.
I can honestly say my meal was beautiful and everyone in our party agreed. Couldn't believe it was only £9.95 for three courses, and generous portions they were. Beautifully presented. I'll definately be back and would highly recommend a visit if you enjoy good food and decent portions!!!
This was really one of the best, if not the best, restaurant I've been to. The service was amazing with the owner taking the time to give us details on everything on the menu and also explain the choice of wines. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. We selected from the specials menu. In particular I have to say my steak and ale pie was the best I have ever had.

Just visited this fabulous restaurant on the main road leading to Lord Street, Southport and what a gem. Ally the owner and friend Wendy were superb hosts. The 3 courses we had were absolutely delicious and cooked to your preference, full of flavours and using fresh ingredients. The menu was varied and would suit everyone's taste, the portions were large, well presented and great value for money. I would also recommend the Rose wine with your meal which came free with some of the meals (sweet and fruity). A special mention to the Chef (Mini) who is Ally's son, for the wonderful tasty food which we all enjoyed, could not fault anything about this restaurant, will definitely go again and recommend to family and friends.

Good food at amazingly good prices including free wine. The owner is a very friendly, slightly eccentric lady who goes out of her way to ensure that all diners have a great experience. The menu is also very flexible, just request a dish and they will do their best to accommodate.
Booked a table for 4 for Friday evening while in southport for the weekend. 3 course menu for £9.95, unbelievable value for money. Everyone enjoyed their meals so much we booked again for the Saturday. Little gem!!
