Always pop in for sausage egg and chips when I'm in the area. I gave it 4* as the last time I went the front of house lady was a little miserable and also not dog friendly establishment.
Please try there sausages they are such good quality and I've found out they also own a butcher's 😊 near the air

Absolutely a must for Portuguese food lovers while visiting Southend on sea!
I like the omelettes a lot and order every time. The best thing is the taste is just right, not too salty or spiced too much, so it feels more like having a meal with a family.
Prices are also reasonable, they increased a bit but still offer better value than some other cafes.

Every time I visit Monte they made you feel very welcome in this family own cafe and I fell like I have been transported back to Portugal...worth visiting again and again....
Lovely restaurant, very close to the ocean. So I can imagine in the summer most be amazing to go for a walk. Amazing food, autentic Madeirense! Perfect parking (right in front of it).

Small but amazing! The staff are very friendly and the food is to die for. Every time I have visited, the staff couldn’t of been any more helpful, the food is authentic and delicious (recommend the pastel de nata’s, they’re fresh and still warm in the morning/lunchtime!)

Easy to find on the main london road in to Southend almost opposite the Sainsbury's store .

Good value we had a breakfast & a toastie coffee & juice & sat at the front of the cafe , chairs and tables outside .
Menu had some lovely looking food which will return and try .

Food is always very good. Made with care and very tasty. I regularly order from them, their salt cod or cuttlefish stew is recommended. They also do a good breakfast!
