Had to find waitress to be seated,meat portion was very small, Yorkshire pudding was really dry,veg was fine
Travelled down from Luton Bedfordshire for a auction night at Southend FC and had the carvery here tonight and I’d like to say that it’s a fantastic place to eat the food was superb and the place is lovely and warm. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again. 5* and 10/10. Excellent

Probably the best Toby. Place was massive but it still flowed and staff were great. Food lovely especially the gravy. We’re in Basildon but would come back to this one 👍🏻
Very good carvery. Food good. Don't always find the atmosphere very relaxing and chilled though. Might depend on what time of the day when visiting. Lunch time is usually busy with families and sometimes this detracts from a more chilled ambience. Although the service is good it's more cafe like in its approach. Good value but I prefer a traditional pub but that's just my personal taste. For families it's good.
Had a lovely experience today we had Lynn serve us and she was polite, professional she was amazing with our children. She deserves a lot of appraisal for how great she works
Staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Too hot in there if you get sat near the carvery. It was boiling! The selection of vegetables was excellent. We always go to Runwell Village Toby but this one was just as good. Compliments to the chef!
I was really impressed with the care to detail when it comes to allergies. They were brilliant and helpful. With a severe allergy, It can be hard to eat out with a severe allergy, but here there were no worries. Our waitress, Lynn was really friendly. It was a lovely calm place to eat.
Staff very helpful in many ways, it's lovely and light, food very good, will use again when in area.
Me and my partner came to Toby today for the 50% off voucher, although there was a little bit of a wait (due to the vast amount of people also wanting a roast tonight!), we were sat down as quickly as possible and Lynn was incredibly helpful. She saw to us very quickly and made sure that everything was okay. Lynn made our experience at Toby just that bit better today and I am very grateful for her and the team who were doing their best to ensure everyone in the restaurant were happy. Thank you Lynn x
Plenty of parking and a very clean pub to enjoy a pint with your food.
Quiet atmosphere the staff we very polite and helpful so kudos for that.
We went for the beef and pork roast dinners (very good choice on our part) the food was exceptional
Meat was plentiful and melted in our mouths, the chef cut most of the fat away which was a bonus.
Sausages were bang on,
Yorkshire puddings were just right.
The veg was moist and very tasty, we even got roast parsnips, absolutely fantastic
The only gripe (that’s the only reason for the 4 stars for food) was the beef dripping roast potatoes were a very hard to cut through but were tasty and certainly
Our sincere compliments to the chef and staff we left extremely happy and full.
All in all I can definitely highly recommend this Toby Carvery, we will certainly return.
Dan (the chef/carver) was friendly and helpful and the waitress very attentive. Food was good but could have been hotter. Shame our fellow guests had their phones on and we were subjected to their noise (some people are just so inconsiderate 🙁). But good value for money and I’m sure we’ll be back.
Louise our waiter was absolutely attentive and really helpful. Which is why I gave a high score, the only reason I didn’t give it a 10 was because the carver sliced my meat and left the string all on it which wasn’t very appetising! My son also asked for a sausage with his meat and the lady just gave him sausages and said no meat! No clear understanding on what he can and can’t have.
Perfect space to work from, particularly the bar area is nice and relaxed. Plenty of plug sockets and quiet for teams calls. Unlimited breakfast and hot drinks for £8 is a bargain and the quality was excellent. Team were lovely and really helpful as well!
Evening didn’t start too well but our lovely waitress Kirsty turned it around. She’s a credit to Toby’s. And Kyle the carver was great & served us very generously. Molly the Manager was also very attentive & lovely. Can’t wait to go back again.
Had a lovely meal here for the first time, staff very lovely and friendly, food was delicious, nothing seemed an issue for them.
Lots of roast potatoes and gravy, my favourite.

Esp as being a group of 5, it's always lovely when it doesn't seem to be an issue, although I did rebook the table, as I don't like being disappointed if no tables available.
Toby's is my favourite stop over after weeks of caring, and your staff are always amazing.
Lynn served us and she went the extra mile.

Our waitress little Jess (I am a bit unsure it was Jess, but it was little ?, called this as there were 2 waitresses of the same name at Southend carvery.
She was a very friendly, bubbly, attentive and quick to help even though the restaurant today was super packed

It was a busy Sunday lunch so we had to wait a little while in the queue for our meal.
