I live in London from 9 years and frankly I was really skeptical before dinner. However, believe it or not this was by far one of the best 2 course menu I've ever had in U.K. Food quality is really above the average, portions are generous and to be fair prices aren't high at all for what you actually getting. If I ever gonna come back to southend, I will definitely come back here!

Fantastic Experience. I'm happy to share with all of you my fantastic experience in the Westcliff Seafront. Today we're facing to enjoy a gorgeous cocktail and so, we choose Aurum Restaurant Terrace, we had visited it before a long time ago, so why not try again. And yes, yet they still serve gorgeous cocktails delivered with a fantastic service!! Once we were greeted we felt quite comfortable and pleasant being there so, we decided to try the food once again. And yes, it is quite expensive, but it is worth it to have the experience. Excellent choice of quality drinks; Vodka. Rum. Gin. Coffee available. It is ideal to enjoy a great chill-out afternoon cocktails at the Terrace or evening time in the lovely lounge bar. Or if you want to enjoy an elegant dinner at their restaurant can bring that pleasant time. Refine touch with comfortable seats and soft and beautiful lightness. The waitress is professional and attends with a lovely smile. Spotlessly clean Yes, I would be happy to recommend it Aurum Restaurant!

Been here before but not for over 2 years. Met with old school friends for dinner on a friday night, had a cocktail in bar initially, bar is classy with great views. Restaurant was pretty empty for a friday evening with only 4 tables taken which meant it was like a private dining room and also ensured we had great service My food scallops for starters, lamb for main and cranberry muffin for desert was delicious and looked amazing. One of my mates had a steak that wasn't very big and lacked any quality taste although looked good. Overall fantastic and a gem of a restaurant in southend, i doubt there is much better locally

Wow. On this trip we’ve been to London, Paris, and Berlin and this was the best meal of them all. The tandoori lamb and the pavlova were perfection. The service was great and the drinks were unique. I’m shocked this little hotel restaurant was so so so good and so well priced. Highly recommend.

Food, was amazing, service, was amazing, layout and decor is also very classy. Price is not too steep either. Since my first visit I've been a few times and it seems they refresh their menu with different dishes and desserts quite frequently. It's a bit sad when a favourite disappears but they always come with quality so you won't be disappointed with what comes next.

Had a delicious meal at lunch, the bi folding doors were open leading out to the front terrace with views of Southend seafront. Service was great. Food was absolutely delicious. If you like a fine dining experience with a sea view in Southend I would recommend a visit.

I passed this restaurant a couple of years ago and remembered it when booking a Mothers Day lunch as it looked like somewhere nice to take my mum. They had a 4 course special menu (£42) for the day so was ideal. The outside of the hotel/restaurant needs a bit of a tidy up, there's stacked up dining furniture outside, some tables were up but seem to be strewn all over, some had full ashtrays. Not the best first impression. You walk into the hotel reception firstly which was confusing - I wasn't sure if where I had to go or who I needed to be seated by, so happened to go the right way and find the restaurant doors. The decoration is ok, it's Essex bling with decent quality, comfortable furniture. We were sat directly next to the waiting table with the menus and computer on, which felt too close. It was distracting hearing every conversation the staff were having - including swearing - not what you would want or expect from a semi-high end establishment. The menu was really good for a set one, a good amount of choice for any tastes and diets. Each course came in good time, was pretty tasty and overall good value.

Had dinner with friends here. Service was on point and food was excellent. Oysters. Steak tartare. Rack of lamb. Fillet steak. Were all great. 👍

We went there last night for a muted stag do as seemed to be the only place that had tables free where we could actually have a conversation. The food was stunning. All of us had steak (even though the menu had loads in it) and every plate was left cleaned. This was a lesson on how to cook a piece of meat properly. Far better than the steakhouses in London. Whoever cooked that meat knows exactly what they are doing - all very impressed. Service was great, setting really nice, pricing very reasonable. All in - if I'm in Southend again, I'd not hesitate to go back.

Visited tonight for a meal, actually more an experience, the place is more West End than Southend on sea , the staff were warm and welcoming especially the maitre d Jonathon and the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was on a different level, imaginative and tasty, small menu which I prefer as all fresh and focused on, but I found it hard to make a choice as it all looked and sounded so good. I went with the special which was a squid and crab ravioli in a rich seafood and tomato sauce - followed by a sublime cote du boeuf - finished with a , yes pineapple tarte tatin which was melt in your mouth good. I asked to meet the chefs which was Luke and Ross as I had to just say a big thank you, lovely couple of guys and super talented. Thank you Aurum will definitely be returning soon.
