Great local pub, really enjoyed the atmosphere without loud music & gaming machines; good food & friendly locals. Loved that people brought their dogs.
Tasty home cooked food, visited several times during our visit to Barling.

I came today had fish n chips, it was full of bones, the chips were delicious

Visited 15th October,2nd visit to this pub, last minute booking for lunch, absolutely beautiful food, the portions sizes are great, well worth the money, well sized roast dinner just over Ā£12, Michael and his team were very welcoming well worth the visit, we will definitely be going back
We visited for a Sunday lunch. Bit stingy on the gravy. It was average in regards of Sunday lunches. We all agreed it was ok. Service was very good and desserts were nice.

Went to The Castle today and had the steak special for 2 with a bottle of wine cost Ā£28 included, your choice of colour. My wife prefers her steak to be "blue" although no blue button available,they put rare and in comments "rare,rare" My steak I asked for medium rare. My god they were amazing absol

Very nice country style pub.. Very friendly. Also very popular with the locals by the look of it. 3real ales. Nice setting.
Just love this friendly village pub, always greeted with a smile and a cold pint. Restaurant and bar food is exceptional and best of all is found in the garden from Dough Boys providing stone baked pizza cooked in an authentic Portuguese wood fired oven!

Had the 3 course festive meal yesterday at a cost of Ā£29. It was the best I've had in a long time. Defintely worth the money. Portion sizes good and all pipping hot. Service was brilliant. Will defintely go again next year. Thank you
