Had a most enjoyable brunch at La Petite Petanque. Met my 2 best friends who had both visited before. The staff were lovely & friendly, service was excellent. Food & coffee were delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with a pleasant selection of music playing in the background. I loved the decor & the views out to the bowling green. You would never know the hustle & bustle of Southend was so close. A hidden gem.

Absolute gem. Beautiful setting, a super friendly and familiar service from the owner and team. We had breakfast, one pancakes and one full English. Delicious. The interior is all about old times grandeur and quirk, we wanted to move in! Absolute must visit, they have out and indoor seating so weather matters not. Great work, an asset to Southend’s restaurant and tourist industry. Thank you!

All I can say is wow! This cafe is absolutely stunning and the location is secluded, quiet and absolutely beautiful. The food was excellent and everything was fresh and full of flavour. The service was outstanding and we loved our server, who was kind, friendly and helpful with the menu. We loved sitting outside on the patio and loved the calm atmosphere that surrounded us. It truly is a hidden gem in Southend and we will definitely be returning.

Stunning Food!! Been waiting to try the Sunday Dinner here. I wasn't disappointed, great service, very little waiting time for such a popular place, Dinner was perfect, well presented and generous, roast potatoes were the best ever, even better than my mother made, home made desert was stunningly good, bill was high but so is the standard - oh! And you get to watch bowls at the same time. Back very soon 👍

Went there for Fish Friday, which happens every last Friday of the month. Retro french chic, calm and peaceful. With a view of the Bowling green. Attentive Staff. The fish soup was very good and my wife enjoyed the prawn and avocado salad. We both had the Skate for mains and it was delicious! There was a jazz singer which made the night special! Calin the manager was most welcoming and helpful. Will definitely go again. A place for a romantic evening or an intimate night with friends. Await their Steak Friday menu.

What a great little find for lunch as we were walking the streets. Super friendly staff in a great location. Great spot for lunch on a summers day. The dishes that we got were super tasty.

This is a gorgeous little place. We were visiting our son and his fiancée and they took us here for breakfast yesterday Saturday. The atmosphere is vintage glam, oodles of character, they knew it would be my "cup of tea" and it very much was. If you are looking for a special place to go, this is a treasure gem!
