I'm shortly going to be leading a fabulous 50s themed wedding held at Grumpy's Diner. It's the perfect venue for it, and Kerry has been so great to work it through with! Can't wait to get back there for the big day.
Discovered Grumpy's thanks to "Beard Meets Food" on YouTube. Loved the cozy, family-run vibe, delicious food, and affordable prices. The coffee milkshake was a standout! Only small critique is the flooring, but everything else was fantastic. Can't wait to come back for more!

We had our child's 6th birthday party, the staff at the diner catered for 30 children and 15 adults, environment and food was great. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Birthday cake they provided was amazing! We cannot thank everyone enough. Would 100% recommend.
Went here with my partner and his family for our birthdays, was outstanding! I have lactose intolerance and my nephew has multiple allergens and the catered for both of us very well. They have a massive allergen and Vegan menu. The waitress’ serving our party went to the kitchen and checked what meals were suitable for our nephew and had everything double checked on food packaging. Couldn’t recommend enough! The food selection was amazing and there was lots to chose from. Would definitely go back again!
Went for a meal for mine and my girlfriends birthday. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. They were very accomodating to my girlfriend who is lactose intolerant and my nephew who has multiple allergens. Fantastic quality food and a great atmosphere all round the resturant.
My partner and I visited Grumpy’s Diner last week whilst on holiday and absolutely fell in love with the restaurant. There was so much to look at within the restaurant as it was so well decorated and the food was absolutely incredible. The staff were so lovely and friendly that we decided to go back for my birthday where we once again got amazing service and absolutely wonderful food. We even brought some candles that they set up in my dessert and brought out to me. We’re absolutely devastated you’re a 2 hour drive away but if ever we are in the area we will be sure to come visit again 😁
Really great meal here after a day at the seafront. Fun place, especially for the kids and as it was October half term, it was decked out with spooky Halloween stuff. The kids had a treasure trail to do to find all the giant spiders and they got a lolly at the end of the meal. Staff really friendly. Vegan options too which we're good (pictured is the personalised vegan burger). Even vegan milkshakes! Will definitely try and go back.
I haven't been as yet, watched bearded man Vs food on YouTube, Southend was a haunt of mine in my younger days! So will check this out next time I'm down that way it does look good 👍😊

Two of us ate and had breakfast, and both of us had the works. The works was a good-sized breakfast, which was cooked well and presented nicely. We had coffee with it, which was nice and hot and had a good taste. The service was quick and polite and the 50's American theme in the resteraunt was really well done. It certianly somewhere I would consider going back to dinner.
The only slight disappointment was a gentleman (who appeared to be known to the owners) who felt it necesssey to have a loud conversation on his mobile phone, on loudspeaker, and no one from the staff seemed to find that at all strange or suggest to him that perhaps it was better done outside for the benefit of those dining inside, who didn't want to hear both parts of his loud conversation.
If I had any feedback to the owners on how to get 5 stars, it would be that it would benefit them to ask people, in such circumstances, to take phone calls outside, as to not disturb other diners inside who were trying to enjoy their food.
Food was good. Reasonably priced.
Slight disappointment in desert sizes. Portions were smaller on second visit.
Small neapolitan ice cream had no chocolate scoop.
Lovely place, been here a few times. The food is good, the service is friendly and efficient.

Been coming here since it opened, even had my hen party here. Fabulous place.
Build your own burger..asked for NO red onion…granddaughter has a reaction to them ( not serious but unpleasant) burger came with red onions..was sent back to be corrected and returned WITH red onions. As the waitress was busy & so pleasant we just removed them and she ate what she could of the burger…ruined what could have been a very nice meal…

Amazing food and atmosphere, love the 1950s style deco and themes. Staff are so friendly, but what stands out is the crazy big seized foods they do, very delicious, family and friends loved it.
