The Wagyu burger is easily one of the best burgers I've ever had! Reasonable prices for the quality of food plus a decent selection of drinks (Grey goose is the house vodka). Really nice atmosphere and just a great place in general!
Only book because of a vegan menu as one of the party was vegan. But was over come with wonderful meals catering for all of us. Will be back there soon
Really good food, incredible service with a smile and a nice, relaxed atmosphere! Will definitely be going back here again. The selection of food and drinks was wide ranging and fairly priced. We left a tip but would have liked to have personally tipped our waitress who served us for 3/4 of the meal, I think her shift ended for the last 1/4 of our meal, she was able to take our order correctly without even writing it down, which was impressive and she kept on checking up on us at key points of the meal, with a warm friendly smile and made us feel so welcome. Had a fantastic night and next I am in there and I see that waitress, she will be getting a tip!

Considering the very reasonable cost of our hotel room ( which included continental breakfast), we feel that this hotel deserves top score; as it is so cost effective but pays attention to detail from well ventilated and cool rooms (with fan if needed) to shower hat! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and stay again when next in RTW.

Love this gastropub, we often go there on a Saturday evening and the food is always great. There's a good variety on the menu and a wide range of drinks. Nice atmosphere and decor, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Our room was spacious, very clean, well equipped with a great power shower and comfy large bed.
Every member of staff we came across were friendly, helpful and a credit to the company. Bruno and Sam had a great sense of humour and were exceptional at delivering customer service. Food was delicious. Great location, would definitely recommend as excellent value for money. Great stay, thanks!
Beautiful restaurant. Came today for Lunch with a client and my 15 month son. Jay was outstanding looking after us and my son adored him. Duck noodle salad was delicious and my son had sausage and mash that came out at a nice temperature which meant I could feed him straightaway, handy when you have a hungry toddler. Really enjoyed the non alcoholic elderflower sherbet which was delicious! Thankyou for a lovely lunch and we shall be back even if its just for my son to high five Jay again 😆🤣
Just had a lovely meal catching up with a friend. The staff were friendly and welcoming. the food was delicious, hot and flavoursome. We had the belly pork with scallops.. not disappointed it was lovely. Followed by the biscoff bomb and the crumble. The bomb melted perfectly with the sauce topping and the crumble was crunchy and creamy custard.
A perfect evening and will definitely return for future dining 😋
Had a fantastic experience at the restaurant with our amazing server jay! Food was incredible and service was above and beyond. We had children with us jay ensured we had high chairs and colouring and was always on hand when needed. Service with a smile will 100% be returning. Thanks x
We hosted a 45 person lunchtime party here recently. We chose the 10 item finger buffet plus a selection of desserts. The quality of the food was excellent and despite the large numbers was always hot which is no mean feat. A big shout out to Jay who looked after us all afternoon and Leigh in the kitchen plus the attentive bar staff. Highly recommended.

Very good service, staff professional & informal & v busy so there was a wait at times. Disappointingly a starter wasn't available & the restaurant had run out of butternut squash for a veggie main course. Custard wasn't available if you had the mini desert crumble, it was if you had the full size 🤔 We did ask & word back from the kitchen was a polite no. Food was generally well prepared & presented & was tasty. Good value too. Attractive environment.
Menu looked great, came out looking nice, but I was still hungry after 😔sauces were nice. Service was great then went down hill once received meal, never saw waitress (2 tables Inc ours were taken) had to clear our own table when we went to bar to order desert, as never saw any one to order from.
We went to the restaurant at The Hand & Sceptre on Saturday to celebrate our parents 65th wedding anniversary. The staff there are so welcoming and friendly. The menu covers most appetites and the food, absolutely delicious, with good size portions. The restaurant is clean and modern and the car park is a good size. I would definitely recommend a trip here, you won't be disappointed.
Service a bit slow but it was a Sunday so they were busy. So waited quite a while before being served drinks.
Roasts were good but peas and green veg hard and undercooked. Not just al dented.
We were looking for somewhere to lunch on our journey, and found this pub. So glad we did. I wouldn't usually expect to pay £13+ for a sandwich, but what sandwiches! We didn't want much for dinner. The steak was tender, the pot of gravy delicious, the chips perfect. Highly recommended
Food here was excellent, massive portions for a roast, the pasta was smaller but perhaps by comparison! Lovely selection of desserts too! Service was excellent and Emma was speedy and observant!
We had a nice stay with attentive staff and a clean, modern room. With the added bonus of a pub with lovely food. The breakfast was delicious with good portions. Would recommend.
Went for a meal on the bank holiday Monday, the staff where all very helpful and lovely but the service was slow because they where overwhelmed. Only two members front of house staff and apparently only two chefs working whilst the restaurant was completely full. Not staffs fault. Although there was a long wait the food was very good
All rooms are up a steep flight or two of stairs. Large suitcases are hard to maneuver on the narrow stairs. Bar is nice and cosy with a restaurant attached. Food was good and tasty. The room was tight but had a nice bathroom.
