On the 5th of January 2015 I was lucky enough to stumble upon the establishment "Scoops gelato Southampton" with some friends. To my delight, upon entering the store we were peer pressured by an employee (the charming Karina) to try all of the flavours behind the counter. As dairying as it is. We accepted. I will now list to you my highlights and regrets of the tasting session.
We decided to start in the top right of the counter which was, on this particular day. Coffee. Now don't get me wrong, Jordan is far from coffee mad. However this coffee ice cream was a joy to have in my mouth. Personally, it was a 4.5 out of 5. Great start Mr scoops. We move down the counter to the nut department. Nuts in question: Pistachio and Hazel.
Both strong options however the pistachio really took the biscuit. We are talking sensual ice cream here. Since we have touched the subject of biscuits, let's talk cookie dough. Now I hate to be picky. But the cookies to me had a texture as if they were fully cooked. Does this not make cookie ice cream not cookie dough? Now let's stop nit picking, as this was actually one of the nicest flavours behind the counter scoring a 4.95 out of five (Jordan Collings top scorer).
White chocolate and peanut butter were also highlights of mine. Now we head to the hidden counter round the corner where you can unlock such flavours as: Toffee, kiwi yogurt, chocolate sorbet and passionfruit sorbet.
I'd say the best of these was the toffee. It was u-tub-ly unbelievable. Ice couldn't believe it. The passionfruit was also a joy to lick off the spoon.
Now we come to the negatives. All being in the hidden counter. I can see why they have hidden these flavours. Chocolate sorbet. Who ever thought that would be a pleasurable experience? It reminded me of a viral video involving two girls and one cup. There again I suppose even that floated some peoples boat. Its an ice cream targeting a very specific niche. The same can't be said for the Kiwi sorbet. I just feel the room in the freezer could be better used. For example ferrero rocher or smarties? Oh yeah imagine that Mr scoop!
To conclude I had the three scoops costing me only £4.50. I chose to have pistachio, toffee and cookie dough. It was a pleasure to consume.
Since writing this review we have been bought free food. Mr scoops is the man. Don't go to sprinkles kids.
Thank you to Bilal and the amazing staff at Scoops. An amazing birthday party. For unforeseen reasons my daughters party at another venue was cancelled at the very last minute. Bilal and Scoops stepped in with literally a few hours notice and pulled off an utterly fabulous birthday party. Cannot recommend them enough. I will be forever grateful
Today was our first time at Scoops as we've normally always gone to Sprinkles. We tried here on a whim because Sprinkles was closed for a refit. All I can say is that I've never recieved such lovely service. Polite, well mannered and helpful staff meant that nothing we asked of was too much trouble. We will definitely be using Scoops as our go to gelato restaurant for the foreseeable future. Dining here was an absolute pleasure.
Very good ice creams and waffle for a very good price. Friendly staff and lots of comfy seats with good privacy from next table, not like in other ice cream place. But to make it even better would be to have child friendly portions (I.e. A little less on the plate). Will go back!
Breakfast very well priced and lovely! We were the only ones in there for about an hour though which was very suprising! Not sure why Sprinkles get all the custom - Scoops is just as good!
So much better then sprinkles bigger generous portions and soooo tasty staff are always lovely
I took 11 children here today for my daughters 6th birthday. The two ladies working this morning were amazing. They put balloons on the table and frozen table cloths. Gave all the children frozen cups with bottles of squash and napkins. They were happy to adapt the breakfast menu and let us and on and take things off.
A really great experience. Well done scoops!!!!!
I was in Scoops this afternoon with my Friend and my 10 month old little Boy and we all had a wonderful time. Whilst I was in the toilet my friend got chatting to who must have been the Manager, as he was offering the children in there Lollipops and asked if my Son was old enough to have one and after that they got chatting about Scoops in general etc and by the time I returned their conversation was coming to an end, but we were both offered complimentary drinks Which was lovely! Scoops is fast becoming my favourite Ice Cream Parlour to visit, not just because I love the interior, the atmosphere, the food/drink on offer and the friendliness of the staff, but also because there is plenty of room for my little boy to crawl around and they're very "child friendly"
The icecream was really good but inside where the seating is at the back of the place was pretty amazing too.
Came in tonight and the waitresses found out it was my birthday, they brought my crepe with candles in and sang to me, what a wonderful gesture!
But this doesn't surprise me because the staff are always very kind and pleasant, so welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Of all the ice cream parlours Scoops is our favourite - thank you!
It’s a good place to come when you are graving something sweet to eat.
The ice cream is good and they have plenty of flavours to choose from. The chocolate on the waffle was very good. The service was friendly.

Can get ice cream in a cone or cup. £2.95 per scoop. Plenty of table space which is good. Service is quicker and better than the other gelato establishment down the same street.
Very busy but staff still friendly and attentive. Shrink-flation noticed with toppings since previous visits. Prices up too. Like everywhere I suppose.
The ice cream is excellent. We had 3 different flavours between us and we will definitely be returning to try more. The cones were very tasty and fresh. There are 3 fridges full of different flavours, one of which is all sorbets. If you want a really good ice cream then head to Scoops, you will not regret it :-)
Good banofee Waffle the prices seem to have increased since I last went but the service and quality was good. The strawberry cheesecake ice cream and banofee ice cream was not that good.
Got very expensive, wafle cost rocketed from £7 to £9, staff are friendly and will do even what is not on the menu 😊
We found this fruit mug on he website but it was a different a Gelato which I didn't realise but the staff were very kind and made the same thing for me.
Thank you <3
Excellent customer service. Honestly I never had Ice Cream like this. Amazing fresh taste. I asked the guy working there who is your supplier. He said we have our own unit to produce our products. Wow It means its fresh and high quality.
Went here as a back up plan as the closer place in Fareham was shut on a Saturday afternoon! Thankfully was not disappointed! The portions were huge and tasty, the milkshakes were really good and my daughter had the fruit sorbet which was fantastic. Everyone was very happy....and very full afterwards! Not too busy when we went, clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
Had a great time out with my family in Scoops! Was so full having delicious desserts! Can't wait to visit again....

Nice people. Clean environment and good food. So many ice creams to choose from.
Absolutely amazing desserts! Super tasty... LOVED IT!
Great range of flavours, well presented and open, airy frontage.
Updated July '22, still providing great service and products, and the open frontage really is a bonus.
Coffee is so tasty.
Awesome place Cambridge should have one. Great gelato awesome customer service.
Huge portion (therefore, if you can eat it all - cheap)! Could not finish half of it. Super sweet. Coffee served too hot. But if you have a sweet tooth day and have an empty stomach - go for it.
A great dessert parlour with a wide variety of gelato to chose from, as well as waffles, sundaes, shakes and crêpes. Always a treat to come here, well worth the visit.
