1st visit had the burger and it was absolutely amazing. I was staying in the area for work so I went back the next day and had the lamb rump special, it looked great and tasted better. I'm back in the area for work next week and I will be going back.
Held my late husband's wake here, and it was the best choice. The food supplied was fresh and varied. As we had a 10 o clock funeral. We chose a selection mid-morning selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes, and biscuits exactly to our needs. The staff were friendly plus the garden room was cosy and comfortable for our group of 20. The garden was a nice addition to our sunny weather on the day. Would say as it is near to crematorium it's a good place to have a wake ;-)
One of the best meals I've had in years. I had the lamb rump special and it was superb - everything about it was incredibly tasty. My wife had the veggie Sunday roast and was equally as impressed. Our two kids ate off the kids menu and were both happy and full.
The service was also great and even though we turned up without a reservation we were greeted and squeezed in.
Highly recommend.

Good selection of beer, prompt service at the bar and what stood out for me was how friendly people seemed to be inside the pub. This was one of my regular haunts (25 years ago), and I must admit that I didn't recognise anyone in there during my last visit, but I did get friendly smiles from a number of people after ordering my drinks and whilst walking out to the garden. The restaurant side was doing a great trade, so fair play they seem to be doing something well.
We arrived without booking and despite being busy they managed to find us a place. Staff were extremely friendly. We have a three year old girl and it is very child friendly.
The food was out of this world and very well priced!

Beautiful beer garden to the rear and outdoor seating to the front. Good range of drinks and ciders and bar snacks.
Only downside was that bar food stops serving at around 2pm which was a little frustrating.

We visited today at lunch time . The young lady who greeted us was lovely and very helpful. The young man who took our lunch order was very polite and helpful too. The meals were excellent. Big portions at reasonable price.

We visited for the first time whilst on holiday. Dog and child friendly traditional pub. The garden is a bit noisy with traffic, but is ok to use. The food was nice and presentable. We like crunchy chips, but if that isn't a preference others may find them too hard. Very friendly, helpful staff who happily assisted when I asked for something I could put with the vegetarian burger I ordered. I noticed another review mentioned it was bland as it is literally burgers and a bun with no relish or salad. I asked for salsa and sour cream which was kindly given and made a big difference to the overall taste and texture.
Enjoyed a really lovely lunch here on bank hol monday, all family loved their home cooked meals, staff friendly, we will definitely return
We didn't eat on this occasion, we had a funeral and went here for drinks. Bar staff were friendly and quick with serving so many drinks. Will definitely go for food at a later date
After a disappointing last moment cancellation elsewhere for the family,they helped us out last minute.Never been before .We will be certainly be back Absolutely spot on ! Lovely staff :) fantastic food . The atmosphere is great.. nice and clean and welcoming.Many thanks
Went here with my daughter and grand daughter. Lovely pub inside and out. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food reasonably priced. Definitely will be visiting again.
Best food in the area by far 5*+, came across this place by chance. Food was delicious 2nd to none , Steak Pie & Steak were excellent. Quality of service was unparalleled. Everyone was so friendly even got to meet the chef who came out to ask if everything was ok. Epic beer garden ample parking & excellent atmosphere
Great proper pub. Food lovely. Highly recommend . Would recommend booking if you want to eat as it gets very busy. Nice garden when sun comes out
