Probably the best hygienic fish and chip shop in the south. Along with excellent customer service. The owner went out of his way to please my order of fish and chips. Cod was so fresh probably the best one I've had so far ever. Will be coming soon again. Thanks guys!!!

Absolutely we'll deserved 5 stars 🌟 for Anna and Jim who served today me and my husband. We don't felt we eat just fish and chips. Anna and Jim asked us if all is fine and if we like it. Portions was huge and tasty. Really recommend it. I will back for sure !

Wife and I enjoyed brilliant Cod and Chips. On another level. In fact better tonight than Fish and Chips from Swanage, where their three Chippies are all A1 anyway. Quality oil, quality fresh fish and quality potatoes. A genuine 5 stars - and I have tried virtually all the Chip shops in the area. January 2020 - Update !! Another lovely family meal of Cod and Chips, Battered Halloumi and Battered Sausage and Chips. The standards remain extremely high - everything cooked fresh - and within a few minutes of arriving. Still the best Fish and Chips in Southampton 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Possibly the best fish and chips we've ever had! Beautiful piece of cod and haddock in thin and crispy batter with home-made tartare sauce and mushy pies and well cooked chips. Fryer Jim told us he was a former chef and it shows. Lovely service, too. What a gem of a place.

Well cooked while-u-wait cod-&-chips, although the fish was just a little greasy. It needed just a little longer to drain. Friendly, pleasant service at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
I suspect that in this location surrounded by the Mayflower Theatre and other venues this chippy will prosper when the lockdown finally ends. It deserves to do well.
June 2022 repeat review. Sadly, I've given up on this outlet. Quality when open is as good as ever, but opening times are unpredictable. I've lost count of the number of wasted journeys made to find it closed despite the website or Google Maps saying they are open.
I've been eating here regularly for years. The quality is unlike any other chippy. Absolutely top notch! The oil, potato and meat is all very tasty. Fish is lovely. I can't fault these guys. Possibly the best chippy in the world? Keep up the great work! Grab a bite to eat here, you won't be disappointed.
Get yourself a seafood basket and chips!! Here for the weekend from the Midlands and this is the best fish and chips I've ever had ! Perfect chips, great fish and the staff are very friendly and have a smile on their face. Highly recommended and if I'm ever back in Southampton, I will definitely be eating here !

Fish was pretty spot on and the chips were even better. Pretty good selection and doesn't cost more than your average chippy.
Service was super friendly, which goes a long way. I called earlier today to make sure they had an item I want and spoke with someone different than served me before, still got the same great level of service.

Best I have had in the UK (ever not just this trip). You can appreciate the attention to detail and quality with almost all products being made fresh and all meals showing where they are sourced.

Very pleasant fish and chips.
We had to wait for them to be cooked, which is fine as they were cooked to perfection.
I might also add after cooking there was minimal grease.
Will definitely return when next job the area.
As aside there is parking outside which is on meters. We went in the evening and had no issues

The chips are amazing, the fish always perfectly cooked and such a friendly reception.
The young chap who served me -'Milo' was courteous, polite and efficient.
The chefs, 'Raj' and co were quick and efficient in producing food that wasn't on show (it was very busy)

Had nothing less than an excellent experience getting lunch here. Chips and batter sausage was delicious, it's a stone's throw away from the local buses and Southampton Central Station and the man behind the counter provided exceptional service.
I'd come more frequently if I was more local, but it's nonetheless something I look forward to coming back to in the future. Tip was well deserved!

This could easily be a 5 star rating in my opinion. The food is fantastic, having only eaten from there twice. Best fish and chip shop in central.
There is a however...
They need to open longer hours! 9pm close is too early and closed Sunday. Most chip shops close at 10pm (and sometimes later). I’d happily spend my money here every time but please extend your opening hours.
I get that, if it is family ran, they need a day off, but hire more staff. I came across your take away by word of mouth, so whatever it is you’re doing, you’re doing it right, business is going well and people are talking about you.
Please make this a 5 star rating for me.
The staff was really warm, the place was spotless and the food was fantastic! Great portion on a medium cod piece, and the small chip portion was big enough for two! Thoroughly recommend it. Beware, eating in is usually not available after about 8pm.
Nice staff, because of the restrictions in place, you have to wait outside. They seemed to be busy but I was leaving with my order in less than 10min. Food was qood, tasty however the fish was bit greasy. Portion of medium chips was bigger than expected. Overall it worth the money.
