Nara is a great place for Japanese food, An extensive menu at reasonable prices. The service is really fast so if you're off out afterwards you won't be late! The sushi and sashimi are really good. Nice, unpretentious decor and pleasant service. Love this place.
I arrived to an almost empty restaurant, but things filled up and I had a good experience. The ramen wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better broth. The service was good, but also had to wait a while for the bill. I’ll be back though.
Fantastic sushi! I’ve been to this restaurant a few times now and it never disappoints. Consistently great food, averaging at about £30 per person.
This time, we had two soft drinks (I’m a fan of the plum tea), and five dishes. The standouts were the beef niku, and the salmon and tuna sashimi.

Really lovely little restaurant in Southampton. The gyoza are awesome and come in 4 varieties. The sake menu has a nice range. The staff are Japanese and the atmosphere takes you away to Asia. Lots to choose from in the menu and the quality is superb. Informal but great fun. What a find.
I had crispy duck don and fried prawn dumplings. Great atmosphere and helpful staff. Quick service as well.
I dined at Nara whilst on a week-long business trip to Southampton and it was so amazing that I ate there twice. We got the signature Nara set which contained a bit of everything - sushi, mini unagi don, tempura, chicken and some sides. It was absolutely delcious and the prices are so reasonable. I
Great place for an authentic Japanese dining experience. The food is excellent and very decently priced, especially with their student discount. Not too much seating inside. Really cool decor inside. Highly recommend
The food was very good and had lots of choice. There are combo dishes to try a good variety. Prices are typical of a sushi bar.
Great little place. Seemed very busy so would recommend booking. No parking and few paid spaces very near. Although short walk to large car park.

Amazing menu, rice very well cooked and tasty, good quality fish. Silent environment, if you don't get big groups who ruin it all... Quiet music and nice waiters. Loved it and will definitely go back for good Japanese food! Takeaway available and students get 10% off, while lunch is 20% off everyone
Lovely atmosphere, the food was incredible and the staff were all so lovely. I had the maki sushi set and my partner had the salmon teriyaki bento box, both so so good. They even offer an NHS discount! Will definitely be back soon!
